					| Interesting Post !

OP, I've seen MANY variations of this list. #4 is very suprising however ! I find it interesting that such a song is even in the top 100. (Not based on my own like, or dislike) Freebird is usually in, or around the top 5, in the lists I've seen

					| maybe i missed it in the list, but i know im old enough to expect to see guns and roses, or vanhalen on a classic rock list....i do see crazy train and that was long after vanhalen 1 and 2........this is a great list though, but one must define "classic" to me cause there should be more songs from the early eighties on here (i see addicted to love and U2)...maybe i just miossed the bands i was looking for......and also i think nirvana and metallica are now classic in the vein that they are time pieces that changed a generation....

ooooooops just found 2 vanhalen tunes so scratch that...still looking for guns and roses

					| I am with you guys... this is interesting, but I don't agree with the choices. Many don't seem to fit my idea of 'classic rock', and I would place a number of these higher than they appear.
Freebird, I agree, is ranked to low on the list. Funny, soon as I saw that one, I went and 'tried' to sing it. Great song!!

					| Well- TOO LATE. I already picked my choice off your list OP- I wasn't sure what qualified as "classic rock"....... I didn't think CCR was in that category. But it was , and that's what I chose.
SO DON'T GO SAYIN' THE LIST IS WRONG NOW GUYS !!!!
Please tell me CCR IS classic rock, or I'm gonna have to go uncheck the "theme" off of my sub. _________________

					| CCR is about as classic, as classic gets.
Yet depending on the age of the listener, the top 10 might list Nirvana, Pearl Jam, or Metallica.
Only thing pretty agreed upon is that the top 5 songs will usually contain some variation of Led Zep, the Who, and Skynyrd.
I just can't believe that A day in the life, would win over a classic Beatles ballad such as I want to hold your hand. Yet this is based upon todays airplay of classic rock likely. Some lists consist of amount of time a song was at the top of the charts. You can be certain of course, those of us that loved the Beatles would never consider A day in the life to be an example of even one of their better works Now maybe I'm missing something, yet I can't beleive there is nothing entered within the top 500 from the Hermans Hermits, or the Monkies.
Mrs Brown you've got a lovely daughter was HUGE, as was "I'm a believer"

					| Hmmmmm... good question. I'd say yeah, Crystal. Go For IT !! Do you think the Mamas & Papas is "theme"? I checked Oldies... but was sorta not sure what to do about "theme". | "Hit me with your best shot" would be considered classic rock, so I suppose alot of her stuff would be.

					| Oh, cool. so I guess I'm okay with that one. It's not like I have a BUNCH of classic rock I sing, haha.
I could have done a Skynyrd tune I guess. But CCR was fun, so I'll leave it as "theme".

Thank you Steven for clarifying for me.

Crystal- yeah, you should sing that one. It's a great song.

					| OP, I think classic rock means nothing more than a time period. Not a particular style. Whenever you see Styxx or John Denver ranked next to Van Halen and Iron Butterfly to me this indicates that style has little to do with such a classification of the music genre. Classic rock is probably 50's to early VERY 80's. Tears in Heaven of course is 80's. seems that one and a few like it snuck in
