Hey girls!!- the show tonight was JUST DC- Jazzy auditioned in Atlanta, I think thats tomorrow, and I auditioned in San Fransisco, the last stop- so be watching those- we might POSSIBLY be on tv, even though we didnt make it to the celeb judges! Keep yer eyes peeled- they filmed us in exactly the same background as the celeb judges round so you just never know what they cut and paste- My great fear is that they show me standing there completly dumbfounded when Nigel asked me to sing a top 10 song. It was quite a DUH moment .
It just finished up here, I recorded it and saw two people right in the very beginning that I met in SF- if you guys caught the girl in the cow costume, she was in the group right behind me in round two
Glad you guys are watching- it gives me a sort of a hand to hold while I torment myself watching this season
I just keep telling myself that at least they said I was good when they cut me - keeps me from beating myself up too much!
SMOOCHES AND HUGS~

I ran into alot of that TYPE when I was down there, and hear them online and everywhere else. They really BELIEVE they are amazing! I have come to the conclusion that they are seriously mentally disturbed, and in order to keep them from being violent, their friends and family tell them what they want to hear so they dont have to deal with them. Very scary stuff. My secret worst fear was always that I was one of them .
I think the worst part for these people, is that by the time they get to Simon and company, they have been through 2 rounds of producers telling them that they are wonderful for TV's sake, so they get all pumped up and take it even worse after that- I agree that it makes good TV, and even admit to being entertained watching it, even though deep down i know its kinda cruel.
But then again thank god SOMEONE finally gets to tell them they SUCK!!!!!!
.
OOps did I say that last part out loud??

Hey gang.. hiya Heather! I'm right there with ya girl.. holding hands all the way..
I actually auditioned in New Orleans, and I'm not sure when that one airs.. I hope it's soon so I can get over the dreaded fear .. MAN it was hard to watch tonight. I'll admit that i'm such a wuss that I did shed some tears. I thought I was over it and all, but it's still so very painful especially when I see what sort of things got through instead.. and I feel really bad for those who didn't even make through the first round who were fantastic who have to watch this..
though... I think it actually would have been easier on me to watch had I NOT made it to the second round. Then at least I would be more mad than just distraught and sad. Coming so close just really killed me. I know that once you get past Nigel and the head producers, as long as you are any good Simon, Paula, and Randy are a breeze.. Mostly what they do is to weed out the "comic relief" from the people who can sing. (i think they let one or two decent ones get by them every year though). I can't stop the feelings of what if, and I start to get really depressed when I realize that my weight probably had a LOT to do with it, as many of you may have noticed they do NOT let heavy white girls through.. at least I haven't seen any.. unless they are bad ones they can make fun of. Lisa Leushner came the closest from last season, and she wasn't even very big.
Anyways, i'm rambling on for no good reason .. Yes, it's a possibility that one or both of us will end up on tv.. they have the cameras around all the time, and during the 2nd round they film you.. also the camera got my reactions of being cut, and my walk of shame *joy* All I gotta say, is that the day that airs, I think is gonna be rough to watch..
Oh and Look out for the Twins on the New Orleans episode. There were these black guy twins that were really cool people and they both sang decently from what I could hear. They went right before me, and I know they made it to Simon, Paula, and Randy.. I have a feeling they might have made it to hollywood.. There's also the girl and guy that I met in line on the second day of auditions.. The girl had already made it through to the 2nd round.. she was ok. and the guy was a country singer.. really nice people. Ohhh and there was this really big guy who just took off his shirt and danced around while yelling.. he may have made it, along with this other guy who was in front of me on the 2nd day of auditions.. OMG he was soooo awful, and he made it through. He was so proud of hisself.. I felt bad for him... anyways, I'll stop babbling..
huggs Heather

i caught last nights show and as usual there was good and bad alike...i am a little dissapointed that this show has taken a "staged" kinda look...the part with the rock band guy was very fake and overdramatized...i mean ryans gonna surprise this guys band with the news hes goin to hollywood and whoa look at that, thwe cameras are already set up and in placde when he enters their rehersal place...jazzy i think it sucks what this competition has become...you elude to the fact that your weight might have been a factor...it is becoming painfully obvious that size is an issue on that show...i think after reuben , the shows producers realize that the idol must also be eye candy to succeed...i dont think we will see too many reubans or frenchies anymore...they will pass a few to keep from getting the hatemail but i have a feeliun the ones they do will be almost cartoon characterlike in their personalities...this show has taken a turn from talent to reality tv drama...i dont think that rocker dude was so great that he had top have his own segment and if you ask me that mary thing was totally staged for our amusement...as i said before you (jazzy) are our idol out here..we all look up to you as our "den mother" in our little singing scouts club here...just know that we are proud of ALL you guys for tryin too !!! let me just say that as a performer who came close to fame but never quite got a hold of it, as i get older , the memory of the effort to make it becomes so much more precious and special with each year i get older....

I have to agree with dumbdrums ~~~
Jazzy.....I just HAVE to say that the fact you got overlooked... or whatever happened... is just a reflection of what the music industry is becoming... at least in that particular "genre". You are EXCEPTIONALLY talented ..... and I don't "know" you personally .... but you seem to be GENUINE & KIND and very willing to help EVERYONE!! To me.....that's an AMERICAN IDOL. So ... watch the show and be proud that you KNOW (and I think EVERYONE on here knows & agrees) you were talented enough to make it to the finals!
My coffee cup says ~~ Don't let the Turkey's Get Ya Down ... Very WISE words that I read every single day!!
Take Care ~~ Cindy

I agree with ya DD -- but it's not just size either. Age also comes into play.
I was sick of hearing how they up'd the age to a whole 28 to get more talent and that talent would also be 'more mature'.
Whoopi -- they up'd it what, a whole 2 years. Then made a big deal of it when they had someone sing that was 28 and acted like they did them a huge favor letting them in this year. blahh...
It's too bad that once you hit 28 you're ready for the bone pile in life now.. There's just no way that you could possibly have enough talent to sustain past the age of 28. Duh.
OK - I guess I'm in a bad mood for the day now.... Must be because I'm 32 and just sittin around waitin to keel over any time now.

Jazzy.....
Everyone here is right. Don't sell yourself short. When I go to audition for Idol this year (If I make it)....I just don't expect to get far....I don't hang my hopes up on making it anywhere....this year...if I go...I am going to have fun. I am going to do something that will at least get me on TV....something like scooter girl.....so at least it won't be all a waste !
It might seem as a "fail before you try" attitude....but it is not. I still give all I got...but I make sure that in my head and heart I remember that they are going to probably pass me up for someone who sings worse than I do...or because they don't like me (just like every competition or audition). I try to stay as grounded as possible so I dont' get too upset when I do lose.....as winning to me would just be an added bonus of any experience I gain on stage....which is the real reason why I compete.
That way....if I do get cut....I don't feel so upset when I watch the show. There are so many other opportunities.....better opportunities....than Idol....and you just have to put yourself out there and wait for yours!
Don't ever be sad that they did not choose you. And don't think it was just cause of your weight....cause it probably may not have been. It may have even been a question that you answered that they did not like the answer to! God knows what they are looking for....and who knows how much experience they have in finding "talent" as opposed to finding "ratings".
The CI judges told my friend that has years of singing experience and years of lessons that she is not breathing right.....and therefore she is not making it to the next round....I mean....what kind of reason is that! !
I always will and always have looked at idol as they want people they can turn into stars...rather than people who are stars already.
Don't ever sell yourself short as you are an AMAZING AMAZING singer....I would KILL to have even half the talent and voice that you do.....and you are so going to be somewhere one day....just have to be in the right place at the right time!

I agree with ya Mikey! It is more of a staged reality show now... which is sad for the talented people who are there to get a break! Some of these people sold everything to be there! Only to let people like Mary Roach go through for a few laughs. What's sad... is that Mary will probably get some kind of deal out of this! Do ya think she is for real??? Scary!! I was thinking the same thing as you Heather.... who in there right mind would tell that girl she sucked without having plenty of good security around!

Did anyone else have nightmares about Mary???? Her and all her voices were taunting me
Jazzy....from what they said last night, New Orleans is tonight I believe....
I do think it's interesting tho...how they've changed the format of the show. It's not just going to be...the best 12 get to the Finals....they're guaranteeing that it'll be 6 guys and 6 girls....guys sing one night, girls sing another...that's a real shame for the people who truly are amazing get cut, simply for being the "wrong" gender to make 6..
I can only hope that any record producers would've been scared off of Mary last night....she just freaks me out!
