I JUST found out, that There will be canadian Idol audtions in Sudbury... this year (as well as london, AND toronto- three locations in ontario) Anyways, Sudbury is a 30 minute drive from my house.... So now, justy wants me to audition... Umm.. no? So weird.. is that last year, I was going to go with a friend who wanted to audiition in Halifax, but we had a blizzard, and I couldn't leave the road for a week...

ANyways, this year, they aren't even GOING to Halifax... And, this year, since we have moved, I was using the fact that I was NOT going all the way to toronto as an excuse to not go..... oh oh...


Anyways, I would love to go for fun, I have no "plans" to "make it"... but, I have never even sang at KARAOKE before.. so that would be a bit much for me.. plus, I would have to go by myself, since we have no one to watch our daughter, ... anyone else from here planning to go? , who else the heck lives around here, eh?

I am debating it. I am waiting to see if there are any competitions that I can win to get me down there...before I pay my own way.

The auditions are in Calgary this year again....and I am in Edmonton...and it seems so far.

I can tell you this....I am quite sure that if you went...you would probably make it

However, there is A LOT of standing in line...way too much of that !

And, it is not fun going alone! If I had the money....I would fly down in a hearbeat and audition with you

I would go if I were you I am sure you would do well! But.....it can get pretty scary singing in front of ONE producer you don't know !

I think you should do it Gilly!! What a scary but cool experience that would be!!

Lol, I would actually love to simply... try it... regardless of how badly I would do. It would be.. well, just a THING for me to do, that I hadn't done before... I would love to see if i COULD sing in front of other people...
And, i am not SO terribly worried about going alone.. I generally make friends easily...

Lol, justy is laughing his arse off at me now:) Because, We don't even have sky in DAYcare, , and it is on a school day for justy.. how would I even be ABLE to go:) Lol, not only that, but justy can't miss classes, and we only have one car.... but.. it is sooo CLOSE! It is just weird.... argh. Oh well:) I still have forever to consider it:) I only clued in tonight:)

I'm thinking that if you don't go.....and never become famous...then I will still get to hear you for free here, but if you do go, then I can just buy your CDs. So, <shrug>, I'm okay with either decision, but damn, Girl, I would definitely go if I could sing like you.

wow quite shocked actually, gilly you never struck me as a person to have that kinda drive to want to do one of the idol shows, i didn't think you took your vocals that serious, well thats the impression ive gained from the things you have said about your own vocals ...but def go for it , jason is right you have nothing to lose.

I've never met someone that talks to themselves as "nicely" as you do... Geez girl! Kick it up and do it! You'd kick some butt -- there's just no way that you wouldn't.

You don't seem the type that would get nerves to me, so it shouldn't matter that you don't sing in front of people. If you want to try it, grab some of your neighbors (even if ya don't know them) and put on a 1 or 2 song Gilly performance just to see what it'd be like.

And foxe- no.. not nerves soo much.. as.. Lol, i am odd:) I perform like an IDIOT in front of people.. but, can't sing:) Although, i like to... if that makes sense:) But, hey, i got the guts to post for all of YOU:)

You know if you don't go, you'll think back and kick yourself in the keester for not doing it. You only live once and at least you can say you went for it. My son almost 17 5'10" 210lbs wants to be a pro wrestler and wants to gotoa wrestling school. I told him to go for it because you never know. If it goes well I get a good nursing home, if not, at least he tried to achieve his dream.

Gilly, I looked through this whole post but didn't see the date the auditions would be held? (unless I am a twit too and just missed it???)

My suggestion, since you haven't done karaoke before and you've said you get embarrassed singing in front of other people (at least I think it was you that said that)... go for some karaoke some night before the auditions for "practice" and see how you feel about it. Competitions scare the hell outta me, but I don't have a problem singing in front of people anymore.

Just my 2 cents... but I definitely think you should do it!

Darn.. karaoke? See, around here.. it is all in bars... (obviously) And bars make me uncomfortable.. and I don't know anyone, and justy can't exactly come with me, because of sky:) I am a sissy..Lol, darn, i SHOULD have gone out to see timberlea. Escaped from the inlaws, DARN it.. i should plan ahead better:)

Yeah, bars can be a little uncomfy for me too when everyone there is drunk and I walk in SOBER... but since you make friends easily, you should have no problem with that. If it were me, I'd go sit by myself at the bar, drink some water (or whatever it is you drink) and put your song in. Best thing, IMHO, is to try it in front of complete strangers first, since the people you'll be auditioning for are just that.
