Syberchick, there are some fabulous sounding lesser known imported guitars, as there are lousy sounding better name guitars. I always liked the sound of guitars such as Epiphone, Yamaha, etc. I just became compulsive with the collecting Sort've like the child that always wanted things, and never really outgrew that phase

wowsers... I've heard Delaware is really pretty... we were considering moving there at one time. That's ok, it'll take us a while till we're looking to 'travel' anyhow. heheh Although... we DO have friends over in KY we're supposed to visit sometime...

True... we paid $150 for the 'no-name' acoustic... and it has an awesome sound. I can understand the collecting compulsion, heck we could easily get into it ourselves if we had the cash to spare.

Do you have a Fender Twin (amp)? If not, you're missing something!! Sweet sweet sound.

Syberchick, Of course I have a 1965 Fender Twin reverb reissue amp
I also have a Super Reverb (4x10), and a Pro Reverb (both about 45 watts RMS), Although the Twin is 85 Watts . It's a heavy little thing. Just stock speakers in that thing bring it's weight to 75 lbs. My original Twin Reverb ended up with Altec Lansing 12's instead of the fender original stock speakers (eminence I think) Amp weighed 90 lbs. Fender has come out with different models of the Twin over the years. 65 blackface, and the Silverface models were nice, "The Twin", and "evil Twin" somewhat recently made (100 watts) are so-so (the twin model had the red or black pointer knobs and came out around 1990) Around 1983 Fender came out with a real goose-egg version "Super Twin", powerfull, yet sounded awfull.
Anway, so much for my yacking about Twin reverbs

I'm gonna have to get you talking to my hubby... he knows all the technical ins&outs of this stuff. I know that ours is an early 70's Fender Twin reverb, and it had some kind of boost kit put in it (so I really don't know what kind of wattage it has now, but we had to use a heavier fuse cause the original (i think it was a 3amp fuse & we had to go up to a 3.5) fuse kept blowing out). But I do know it has one of the nicest sounds I've heard on a straight amp (without an effects processor, like the POD)... and yeah, it's HEAVY!!

We briefly considered shelling out for one of the 'new' Fender Twins (I think that's what you're calling a 're-issue'?) but we bought this one cheap from a friend who had it in hiding... heheh

Anyway, hubby likes to put some light flange & verb on his Ovation copy with the POD, then put that out through the Twin... so he says it has a Marshall quality to it or something.. I saw YOUR Marshall hiding in that pic btw... heheh

Fender has had several "twin" amps out Syberchick. "The Twin" was a 90's model which is different than the "evil Twin" as it's called, which is different from the 65 twin reverb reissue (best of the models). Your early 70's is probably a silver-faced Fender Twin Reverb, (silver control strip with blue lettering is my guess) Those are FABULOUS amps !
The Marshall 1/2 stack has been retired to the basement storage area with most of the other large cumbersome amp stuff. I currently have my twin upstairs. I liked looking at the Marshall, yet it's big. Too big for in home use. It's been replaced with a chair

I like the ovation also, I bought the Celebrity series, and it has an awesome tone. I also have
a 72 fender strat
an 82 I banez blazer..... sounds better than the strat
and a yamaha.

I couldnt believe the yahama was the cheapest. I Have several yamaha Keyboards, and had a Yamaha Baby grand, and I believe they build the cadillac in anything they build. For playing chords it is the best of all.

I only wish that I did own that dream Guitar studio.

Yeah, that sounds like our amp. I reposted the 'collage' picture below (our digital camera isn't working, so I scoured the net to find pictures of our equipment). Only difference is, the previous owner of our Twin replaced the cloth on the front with some kind of black metal grating... because he had kids & didn't want one of them to poke a hole through a speaker (doesn't seem to effect the sound, but we want to get an original faceplace to put back on it).

I just bet that Marshall 1/2 was taking up a lot of room.. in fact, I doubt you really even need it anymore. Just a big, bulky thing... totally in your way. We could give a good home.... OL

I've looked at a lot of Ibanez... and been really impressed with their sound so far. We've just always ended up getting something else. The Rick is an awesome guitar, truly unique sound, perfect intonation and such a light action. Hubby wants a 12-string Rick, but we haven't been able to get him one yet. We also have a Yamaha keyboard (had three, left two behind when we moved). It's a fairly cheap one, but it has the good digital voices and full sized keys. Sounds great.

Yep, I have a Korg sp100 (stage Piano) and also run it through a synthisizer and a mixer. This way I can play a piano and organ or whatever at the same time. the sp100 has weighted keys.

Look in local Pawn shops, sometimes they dont know what they have. I bought the '82 Ibanez blazer for $100 in a pawn shop, and had my guitar guy change the strings on it an set it up. It plays and looks like a brand new one. Not a scratch on it.

I buy a lot of my stuff because it is too cheap to pass up. The fed ex man had a fender '60's twin reverb and wants $50 for it. it is probably worth a few hundred working. I may take him up on it.

Here's a couple of pics of my sweet baby.. No... Not Lisa... ... Check our pic areas for that.. ..

It's a lefty '68 Fender Mustang. I've altered it greatly as you can tell, but I've had several guitars, but none has had the versatility and sound that this little guitar has. I bought it for $75 22 years ago... ouch.... That one hurt.
And played it stock for a few years before making a few changes.

I know the changes have destroyed the collector value, but it's mine and not going anywhere.

My dad recently bought an electric/acoustic.... its great... it has all these little knobs and buttons, and he can change the settings to make it sound like whatever sound he's after... gibson, strat, tele... the list goes on...

I can't remember the name of it offhand, but I'll check it out and get back...

He's been a professional guitarist for 40 years, and he's rapt with his new toy, so I guess it must be REALLY good
