I've found KJ'ing that the Sweet Georgia Brown CDG collection (disc 01 to 66) has a number of errors in it. The list indicates a song, the silk screen on the CD indicates the song - but that isn't the song. Two that stand out are John Cafferty's On The Dark Side is actually 112's Peaches and Cream and Harry Connick Jr's It Had To Be You is This Moment In Time by Burt Bacharach.

My question is does anyone have an "accurate" list of what is in the SGB collection. I work with a number of discs and the issue with errors seems to be exclusive to Sweet Georgia Brown.

I looked at my list and the Burt Bacharach song doesn't appear (nor does the Harry Connick Jr. song you mentioned).

Thus far I've not had any issues with my SGB discs (other than quality on some of the tracks) but they match what's screened on the disc.

What were the disc/track numbers for those songs?

BTW, my listing (and verified on the disc) has 112's Peaches in Cream on SGB065 Track 18. Let me know if that's where yours is off or if it's on another disc.

Try SoundChoice if you want to see a mess. They're just as bad (if not worse) then SGB.
I have gone through each and everyone of my CD's compiling my songbooks to make sure they're 100%. The only way you'll get a good list, is to do it yourself.

I have also found some discrepancies with the SGB disks that I own. I've laughed it off, because they were house parties, but I'm going to have to manually check'em, so I concur, check'em yourself!

Happy New Year!

Chartbuster isn't much better. On the essentials 4 collection label says one thing, and you get another.

I checked my database, sorry, one of the errors is in the 10 disc plus pak to the SGB library.

SGB1004-17 -- Disc says Harry Connick Jr, It Had To Be You as does the printed sheet, but it's not.

SGB065-18 - Disc says John Cafferty, On The Dark Side as does the printed sheets that came with the disc, but it's not.

I guess it is what it is. On another note I had a happy discovery of an error last night. Was singing and brought some of my own discs. Backstage Karaoke 5417 has 6 extra songs on it that aren't listed. The KJ fired up track 22, instead of 12 like I asked and a track 22 started playing. Going to check it out later today.

Thanks for all the replies. I had hoped someone had done the manual check and then documented it for all.

A manual check of your discs may vary from mine. Because of licensing changes songs occasionally get replaced with others. We've seen this with even the Foundations from Sound Choice.

I can say that I've had good luck with what's screened on the disc is what's on the disc (thus far). I have seem printed lists that didn't match up with the disc fairly regularly though.

Anyone have any idea how the KJ song book creation programs handle the changes in discs?

Oh don't get me wrong - 2 errors I can find off the top of my head out of close to 1,200 songs is not a bad track record (1,200 includes the 10 disc add on and the five disc Pop pack).

Always seems that if there is an error in the book, SOMEONE is going to ask for that song and when you say you don't have it - guess who's fault it is (and in the ideal of the customer is always right, well I guess they are right).
