I talked to the owner of the bar that I used to fill in at.
Friday night, I get to finally use the new speaker system and mixer. I also picked up a new TV stand, actually I am using the mic stand that held my announcement mic. This means that I have to get my new song list printed.

They normally use a Yamaha MG10XU mixer, I am not sure what brand amplifier but a very old pair of EV speakers. Now that I have my system together, I refuse to use anything else. The sound blows away his system. Whomever is doing the karaoke normally has to provide the mics, player and library. I won't go back to a conventional speaker setup. I am playing again tomorrow night.

Well the owner is usually the bartender for tonight and he was feeling under the weather so he cancelled tonight. That's ok. I got a possible replacement gig that is going to pay twice what this gig was supposed to. And I can either eat before the show or after because the restaurant is open 24 hours on the other side of the building.
