Here is the case: Karaoke DVD player, 400 w receiver, I tried the new wireless mic with the DVD mic plug in, it didn't work, I was told the DVD amplifier is too weak , use the receiver , my receiver doesn't have a mic plug in , so I used a "Karaoke Mic Adapter for DVD player" and I attached it to the receiver, it didn't work too. the mic was tested Ok in the shop, any advice ? please help!!

Depending on the DVD player, you'll find the mic level in a submenu accessible from the remote. On others it's a knob on the front of the player.

1. Be sure you can hear the music from the karaoke player.
2. Make sure the DVD Karaoke player is in karaoke mode. Many shut off the mic inputs if they're not in karaoke mode.
3. Insure the mic input is turned up mid-way and try speaking softly into the mic, working up to a normal volume and adjusting as necessary.
4. Check the karaoke adapter for dead batteries. Some of these use batteries to power the mic pre-amp.
5. Check the switch on the mic. Often they get bumped and turned off. Sounds crazy but I've seen more than one case where the mic was off after an hour of troubleshooting.

Those are some basic things to check. If you still have problems the model information of the DVD player, mic, amplifier, etc would help us to solve the problem.

SOME dvd players and cdg players won't work with wireless mics plugged directly into the player.

Thanks, karaokemeister for your response, I made all the cheks suggested but no avail, I know that the solution is to buy one of those expensive "karaoke mixer amplifier" , but will be any solution to make the "karaoke Mic Adapter for DVD player" work with my mic? Theoretically, this adapter with the support of a Sherwood RD-6108 100W x 5, Dolby digital/DTS Receiver should work perfectly, but maybe I am missing something. Thanks
Merry christmas and Happy New Year!!!
