I know that Gemini's are not JBL, EV or Mackie, but they look interesting. Gemini has a line of powered speakers and Pyle has a line of powered speakers. I'm looking into them, to save space and make moving my rig easier. Right now I have a Kustom 80 watt P.A., which includes the head and the two speakers, which works alright...

I've also looked at the Peavey powered series, which is more expensive and I know they should be good quality, because I've owned quite a bit of Peavey gear... any feedback guys?

Thanks,

of the ones you mentioned I prefer the peaveys. I had a pyle pro 2000 amp claimed to be a 1000 watt amp....... it was about 160 watt. bought a peavey 2600, and what a difference.

Agreed out of all the brands you mentioned (although the Mackies & JBL's would blow all these away sound, quality wise), the Peaveys would probably be the most logical choice.

Look into Carvin powered speakers as well. You can only buy them through their website as this is the biggest way to keep their prices down & their quality high. I won't post a link here for fear that it would be erased through the politics here, but you can Google search & it should pop right up - or PM me.

You probably want to upgrade the Kustom pa because you want better qualtity sound my advice is to save up and then buy the JBLs or Mackies. I have never heard Carvin gear personally, but I do not recall reading that someone was really displeased with their perfomance. Most owners rave about their Carvin gear. They may be worth a shot.

I run Carvin amps & my former soundman has an entire Carvin PA from mixer to speakers to monitors & for the prices, they kick butt!

Once again I gotta go with lonman. I've had some carvin amps, a bass, and a guitar. They all rock. I can't imagine thier PA gear would be of any lesser quality.

After reading several of Lonman's post I'm now running a Carvin mixer, amps, mains, powered sub, crossover & eq, love them all. Dollar for dollar an excellent buy.
