After asking me what I thought of his song, Sliika didn't like what I had to say... ie it was passable but not as good as he thought.

After attempting to insult me for a while, I suggested he post and ask for honest critique... which he has done.

Why's everyone giving HIM such a hard time all of a sudden? I thought it was good.
i WISH i could sing those kinds of runs....... sure he needs to work on controling his pitch, but my goodness people there's FAR worse singers here. The SOUND of his voice is nice....he has some power. his voice is clear.
The only thing I see wrong with it is he sounds a little stuffy..... and is just a BIT pitchy...which can be fixed with practice. I think some are being a bit harsh

remember ppl..... if that type of singin is not your style or your taste... it doesn't make him a bad singer.

I've known Jacqui a long time..I also know Slicka..and well...Jacqui would never have said that to him. She's well aware that he's a kid...plus she's more adult and professional to tear apart anyone that way.

Slicka asked for honest critique and that's what he's getting...if you listen to his previous subs...they're all rather nasally. It's not just that he's sick and it's something that people constantly mention. If he doesn't mind it...then that's great...but if he wants to improve as a singer...that is definately one area he should work on. I don't agree with tearing a singer apart..but I do believe in Respectful Honesty...and I think that's all Jacqui was giving him. Whether he accepts it graciously or not...that's another matter altogether.

oh absolutely. I don't think Atomic was being Rude. SHe didn't come out and tell him "you suck" or anything. I should have clarified that. Some of the ppls comments WERE, however pretty harsh

Well this is just an opinion mind you...but if you want some additional info on I think WHY Slicka is attacking Jacqui...here goes..

Several of us are doing an online singing competition....Slicka was one of the Judges there and he was removed for various reasons..
Since then..he's tried very hard to "discredit" several of us..through various means...and this just appears to be another attempt to make Jacqui look bad...which is damned near impossible to do. She's a professional singer...and one of the best people *I* know..as well as many others here know....
Yes he asked her for a critique, and she gave it honestly...but at no point was she rude about it. He just wasn't able to handle it.
It just appears to be a sorry attempt at additional unncessary drama....and if he asked for Honest Critique..and that's what he's getting....so be it...

What actually happened was the song was sent through with the comment "now listen to that, you can't say I'm not an awesome singer!!!"

What I actually said was it was ok... passable... but not great... and was then told I was lying and it was really great, which is why I said post for honest critique then.

I'm not into tearing people down, I've had it done to me and its not nice, but neither can I sit back and agree that someone's an "awesome" singer when they're actually just a reasonable singer.

Sorry, but thats just me.

age and attitude comes into play....there are far worse singers...and sometimes those who critique so harshly need to look at their own voice or voices before and their lack of....he's a young man with a decent voice and with the correct recording knowledge in my opinion would leave a lot of singers standing...instead of trying to prove who's right or who's wrong...give the kid a break and perhaps a little email with ideas and tips on recording...it's not a competition. i thought the idea of critique was help, not to have the first chance to tell a young person they aint good.

your not a b##### atomic, not at all your a fair person in my opinion, but, you really didn't need to say anything or justify your opinion, to me its just encouraged people to go to listen to him and either back you up or not...and give the lad a rating of 6.6...shakes her head.

he's a young man with attitude, we don't need to knock that out of someone as they move through life and the trials and traumas of it will do that.

ya know the problem keeps occuring theres some out there who have the thick skin to be able to take harsh critique and others who think they can then can't...its finding the happy medium...everyone is so different...surely there must be an answer...critique perhaps could be put into 2 sections i know it sounds silly...but harsh and mild...i know people will think i am nuts, but its a fact some people what the flat out honest opinion of people, others just want tips on improvement that may be why they click critique.

I have a 21 year old son..I agree that encouragement is required...with honesty...He's a man now... (when did i get old!) The world will lie to him enough without me doin it to..

as for his sub..its wasnt awlful..it was what I would have considered average...I heard aloottttt of potential..now he has his critiques.he should work on the things his "peers" ...(the singing community, age doesnt matter much in music) have pointed out to him....

The "runs" ..are great..in moderation...I wish I could do that too...just not every other word...

he sounds serious enough about his singing..so i feel like he will take the advice given..and work on some things
