Ok, so Ive been up half the night baking cookies... made 6 dozen oatmeal and 6 dozen chocolate chip ( i have the best recepies for them both!!)

So... now im finished! But let me tell you it was some freakin work out!
My kitchen looks like a bomb hit, I cant sleep... and I have 15 people coming over for a Christmas party tonight!

Anyone want to come and clean my house while I sleep? LOL

Just thought i'd ask!
HAHA

Merry Xmas everyone and beware of messy kicthen syndrome if you plan on baking this holiday season cause it hit me hard!
:-)
Ill be sure to post pics on sunday from the party.... this way you can see all the drunks and laugh! lol

thinks thank god the supermarket sell decent cookies cause i know i wouldnt be cooking that many to feed ma drunken relatives and friends lol...rather you than me nashville....i bet your kitchen looks like mine after my 11 year old son asks for a cooking lesson lolol...have a great party nashville :-)

Poor you! I know it can be very tiring to bake a lot of cookies at once. I am usually the one in my family who makes them. I had already decided this year to only do three types (usually I try to make 5 or 6 types). Since I found out I have diabetes, now I won't even be able to eat them :(

Get some rest! Have a fun party!

I know of many good sites, and have collected over the year, a lot of good diabetic cookies/sweets/cakes/squares recipes.... if you are interested, give me a shout:) If not, like i said, there are many good recipe websites, where you can easily find cookie recipes:) Happy Holidays:)

Have you tried them? I tried a few I found and really didn't like how they came out. I bought some Spleda ones that were pretty good so I figured I'd just buy cookies for myself and everyone can have the others :)
Maybe I will take you up on that later...don't really have time to try them out before Christmas. Thanks!!

Yuppers, I have tried em:) I don't eat sugar, so, I have a lot of no sugar recipes... pretty much every REAL recipe can be adapted into a fairly good no sugar one (the trick is to combine different types of artificial sweetners, like, splenda, with sugar twin, etc.) You get a much more natural sweetness, and you can't pick out the the artificial flavor as much.. mind you, I have been doing it for so long, I can barely remember what sugar TASTES like:) But my hubby eats everything I make, and HE Loves it.... Someone started a xmas baking thread inthe discussion forum, awhile back, and i think I posted recipes there.

I will stop rambling now, have a good one.

Are they low-fat and low-calorie as well? My problem is that I need to lose weight and so I'm trying to watch those things as well. It's kinda hard to not only take out the sugar but the butter (esp. in cookies). I would be interested in any recipes you want to send me!

Lol @ crystal!!!

Low fat? no... low calorie? No.. low carb? Yes:) Sorry, but, I luv me fat:) SO, if the weight loss plans involves cutting carbs, then, yes, I have the recipes for you:) Plus, my lil sis. is a nutrionist, so, I get lots of advice.. wanted and UN wanted. Generally though, my recipes include... my fave food. (is butter a food group?).

I tried the low cal, low fat ride for awhile... but, switched to a modified, special gilly low carb, and lost a lot of weight this year. (lol, i promise! I won't post the fat pics again!).

Good for you for losing the weight! My dietician put me on a very strict diet. It SO sucks. I am limited to 45 grams of carbs per meal (30 if I have snacks), 5 oz. of meat daily and 50 grams (5 servings) of fat per day.
I have about 60+ pounds to lose and I'm hoping to do it in no more than a year. I think I'm turning into a rabbit :)

Yeah, we had a great time... party didnt end till about 4am... we were just singing and drinking and being silly all night.
Oh and we had so many little finger foods...we all pigged out!

Found this recipe... thought I'd share.... LOLOLOLOLOL!!!

Tequila Cookies

1 cup of dark brown sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) butter
1 cup of granulated sugar
4 large eggs
2 cups of dried fruit, such as dried cranberries or raisins
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp fresh lemon juice
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 bottle Jose Cuervo Tequila (silver or gold, as desired)


Sample the Cuervo to check quality.

Take a large bowl, check the Cuervo again, to be sure it is of the
highest quality, pour one level cup and drink.

Turn on the electric mixer...Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy
bowl.

Add one teaspoon of sugar...Beat again. At this point it's best to
make sure the Cuervo is still OK, try another cup ...just in case.

Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break 2 leggs and add to the bowl and
chuck in the cup of dried fruit, pick the frigging fruit off floor...

Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers just
pry it loose with a drewscriver. Sample the Cuervo to check for
tonsisticity. Next, sift two cups of salt, or something. Check the
Jose Cuervo.


Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Add
a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find. Greash the
oven. Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don't
forget to beat off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl through the
widow, finish the Cose Juervo and make sure to put the stove in
the dishwasher.

To heck with the cookies, it's Moose Milk time. What is Moose Milk? It's like a fabulous milk shake but if you drink too much, watch out for the Loiusville slugger.

Moose Milk

Ingredients Quantity

Eggs 12 - use yolks only

Good Canadian Whiskey 40 oz

Dark Rum 40 oz

Kahlua 5 oz

Maple Syrup 10 oz

Milk (homogenized only - don't use skim!) 40 oz

Heavy whipping cream (not canned!) 40 oz

Sugar 1 cup


Preparation

Beat yolks until fluffy and completely mixed.
Add the sugar and beat the mixture until thick.
Stir in the milk and the liquor.
Chill for at least 3 hours (preferably overnight).
Whip the cream until good and thick. Don't use canned whipped cream as it will go flat.
Fold in whipped cream (it will appear as if it has totally thinned out, don't worry).
Chill for another hour.
Sprinkle the top with nutmeg and cinnamon to taste (optional).
Serve (when serving keep chilled because of the raw eggs. Normally this is not a problem, as Moose Milk disappears quickly).

We do a similar thing.. but dump it all in eggnog, and still use the whipped cream, and a whole lot of alcohol......


OR, you can do a low carb version.. lol. Too bad I don't drink:) Sounds good timberlea:)

By the way.. hows the weather there? I will be there on saturday... and it is miserable here in ontario:)
