I am playing around with MTU Video Hoster and I would like to get a regular user of the program on the phone for some questions and guidance.

I have spent months using it exclusively at home. My wife and I sing a couple of hours almost every day and I have been using a friends Hoster laptop for test purposes. My conclusion so far is that it is way less key stroke and mouse movement efficient. Only recently has a strict rotation feature been added, so that has added some desirability as well. The auto silence removal tool works well, but requires that it run for many hours to test the files first. Adding new songs can be confusing because of the KMA file type requirement. I have done it many times by now and it still baffles me to some degree. It works well and the scroller has a lot of options for customized advertisements. All in all I like Karma way better..... but I haven't given my friend his laptop back yet.

I find the opposite. Leaving Karma aside (I wouldn't use a Bob product other than icroons for an occasional search), I have used the others and found Hoster to be the easiest and many desired features (some of which were my doings ). I can call you later on around 4.

The lack of HotKey support in Hoster bothers me. In Karma, I can do 90% of nightly functions without every touching the mouse. Only need it to actually dragging their song selection to their name. Hoster has me bouncing back and forth between mouse and key board for the entire process.

Actually I'd have to look, but I do believe Hoster has hot key shortcuts. I don't use them myself but will check again.

MTU does have hot keys. Not quite as handy as the "F" keys, but it will do. Again, a mouse like I have shown can be programmed for a 1 button execution of multiple key strokes.

bah.....I don't like CTRL and SHFT keys. And this is coming from a gamer that is accustomed to doing that every day. Karma's single key hot keys are what I am looking for. The programmable mouse is a solution, but I would need to do it x10. :/

That mouse can do times 11. Six direct launch, 1 scroll wheel (press down), 2 direct launch (above rt and lt mouse keys), and 2 chord key functions. Plus it never runs out of real estate. Every key is infinitely programmable.
It is my command center.

When I say "x10" I mean I would have to buy 10 of them. One for each venue. Then teach people to use them.

Autohotkey scripts compiled and assigned to F keys https://autohotkey.com/

I have KMA/H direct editing software. I can renumber a file to whatever I want (bookid), change the name, artist, brand, duration, etc. whenever I want without having to re-rip anything.
I can also renumber my entire library with a couple clicks. I've set up my library so that DK still has the same numbers that the original discs used: 5601 (disc 56 track 01) is still "My Girl" by the Temptations....

No takers on this? Lonnie has offered to help but our schedules aren't lining up.
I have 5 common tasks I want to do in Hoster and I am looking for the most efficient ways to do them.

Here is how I teach my folks to use Karma. There are other ways to do some of the items below, but these are the fastest and most efficient.
Add a Singer to the Rotation
Press the INS key, start typing CHRIS and it will narrow the list (as I type) to all singers beginning with CHRIS. If there is no CHRIS, just press ENTER and they are added to the rotation. If there are more than 16 singers in the database that begin with CHRIS, there is a scroll bar to expand the list and I can use ARROW keys or mouse to select. Press ENTER. This adds singers to rotation.
Search for a song
Press ESC ESC (ESC twice) and I am taken to the SONG SEARCH Field. I can search for any combination of – Artist, Title, DiscID - Example - ISA CHR SC will reveal all Sound Choice tracks by Chris Isaak.
Adding a Song to a Singer who is in rotation
Perform “Search for a song” above. Once track is located, use mouse to drag song to singer in rotation.
Update the karaoke library (we do this several times a night)
Use mouse, click MENU, click MEDIA, click UPDATE DATABASE. 30-90 seconds later, the library is updated.
This is 99% of what ANY PC based karaoke host does in ANY hosting program over the course of an average night (except update the database if you don’t buy on the fly). As you can see, Karma makes it drop dead simple. The only time I am REQUIRED to use a mouse is for things that make the most sense using a mouse – drag and drop operations and selecting songs or singers on screen. Otherwise, everything else can be performed using a keyboard alone. There are hot keys for Start/Stop/Pause/Next and more, but myself (and most of my hosts) use a mouse for those functions because it is again, very natural.
My goal is to do the same things in Hoster with as little effort as possible.

Some of them do and some do not.
