Based on the direction of the current discussion, I think jdmeister made a good decision.

Just to clear the air, any deleted threads or posts, are reviewed in the Moderator forum.

Management can reverse any deletions. Doesn't happen often.

Walking into a show yesterday knowing I was fully legal and had the CB registration done, was quite a nice confidence boost. Plus I got a good night's sleep for a change not worrying about this bloody mess. Just sayin

A "Paper Trail" is a necessary tool to have when the authorities or those trying to be the authorities, come knocking. It's also probably helpful when putting venue owners at ease.
So to answer your question based on experience with missing "paper trails" depriving the innocent of their rights, Both but not in an absolute sense.

Ask Paradigm Karaoke how well that's worked out so far because if it really did work, after all the lawsuits and "certifications" that have happened I would have expected a ton of KJ's posting and singing the praises of how wonderful it is at helping them and the industry make more money....

I have picked up long running shows due to being listed on the Sound Choice certification page.

The way I see it, is I can get 2700 songs for a minimal price, pay an extra $50 to have PEP "register" them, and that will be it. All in, it will cost about $200 for 2700 songs. That beats the CRAP out of ANY of the GEMs. This will give me many of those old Country songs that nobody else has made, and will replace a ton of my SGB songs. Am I thinking about getting more gigs from this? Nope. It won't give me better money, either. This market is what it is. I can buy the SCDGs, cheap, and be done with CB. I WILL be the ONLY one in my area with a legit CB collection. That will be nice, if PEP ever comes through here. I doubt they ever will, but whatever. I will have nothing to worry about.

May not work for every KJ in every market at every bar. It has been beneficial to me.

Sorry, but 1 KJ company doesn't constitute "a ton." Where are all the others singing the praises of how well it's worked?

Almost the only one.

So for those of you whom registered your Chartbuster discs how were you notified if it was approved? Can you go on the PEP Rocks website and see the approval? I registered 9 days ago and have not heard anything yet.
