"The Dance" is by Garth Brooks... overdone country song that is a ballad, and is tortured to death nightly by drunks that should stay at home! !
"The Rose" is a BEAUTIFUL song... but again, mistreatment ruins it.
Same thing for "Turn The Page" by Bob Segar. I sing it, and know I do a damned good job with it. But it's overdone by people that think that they can do fine with it, and it's basically ruined. Sad to hear the notes start up when I do it, and people groan and then perk up when I do a good job on it. Even get congratulated afterwards.
One guy told me "Man, I hate that song, cause people ruin it. Thank God you know how to sing it well... you sound LIKE Bob Seger!" One guy even told me that he thought karaoke was dead, so they turned on the jukebox. he turned around to see fat ol me singing it.
Now THOSE are nice compliments.
OOps... another awful one that's ruined at karaoke: "Against All Odds (Take a look at me now)" by Phil Collins

Over the Rainbow (any version)
Grandpa (Judds)
Fallin (Alicia Keys)
Those drive me to the point of drinking and I don't drink!
But I keep playing em cause the customer wants to sing em... I have learned how to wince without people noticing.. and a cough covers a Hoot and Hollar laugh everytime.

My choices for worst karaoke songs...
1. I will Survive (if i have to hear someone else butcher that song, I will slit my own throat!)
2. Paradise by the dashboard light (TOO LONG--YAWN)
3. Broken Wing (not because its a bad song, i actually LOVE it...however, NO ONE can sing it like Martina, and i dont know why ppl bother! They end up butchering it to death!)
4. Hero! (do i need to elaborate?)
Those are my choices...many may disagree.. but thats ok by me!

Hero?
Yes you do... depends on the singer's version.
Hero - Mariah Carey - definately agree.
Hero - Chad Kroeger and Josey Scott (Theme from "Spiderman") - hey now, dem's fightain words! ! I LOVE that song!
Hero - Enrique Iglesias - a kewl song, but don't think many can sing it.
And then there's songs with the word "Hero" that is part of the title... but I know you're not going there.
