I know MP3 format but when I took my song from disck to MP3 it ended up being like 30MB????...There needs to be a place here to go for slow learners. ya know step by step inch by inch so to speak  So if you can help me I would greatly appreciate it....remember use small words....lol

I really want you to hear my music, but I can't seem to get it to you..

30 MB? Your song is TOO big....you need to compress it so it doesn't take up so much room.
Does your software have that? I use Adobe Audition.

......When i go to SAVE AS:....then down at the bottom in the drop down menu it shows MP3....i pick that.....then i click the OPTIONS button to show me what i can compress to....128 kbps or 96 kbps is what i choose.

After that....i go to the folder where i saved it.....click on the song...click on properties.....it shows you HOW much MB your song is......

Does this help?

the standard compression on .wav files as they are compressed to .mp3 is 128kbps.

a regular 40mb .wav file will compress to around 3.8mb .mp3 (128kbps).

Using a freeware program like goldwave you can do a batch conversion and save the .mp3 as lower compression, say around 80 or 90.

and likewise, the size of the file is smaller
