Hi everybody. My husband and I are new to Karaoke but love it. We just bought a machine and I ordered some cd's but I not sure if I ordered the wrong thing. I got CDG's. With these cd's can you turn off the lead vocal?

Help!!!

Depending on the brand you ordered, many cdg's don't have any vocals. If they do, they are on a separate track ie 1-9 instrumental 10-18 vocal guide.

one thing though. Lonman is essentially correct, but there are also those that have a lead vocalist coming out of either the right or left channel. These are called multiplex discs.

They're usually imports, or very cheaply made discs... the more popular ones aren't this way.

so if you DO hear a lead vocal, try adjusting your player's channel output. some players actually have a button that will allow you to toggle this:

Left channel - right channel - both channels

I know Sing King does this, NuTech as well as many others
