so at this one spot where i host at, there's a regular who'll ask me to throw on any karaoke song beat and he'll freestyle over it

lemme stop right here and say i DESPISE freestylers at karaoke. DESPISE it. and i love rap. i just feel that there are other venues for that.

but this regular is a nice guy and it's purely for entertainment. he won't be signed to any record deals anytime soon. and i put him on because he's not freestyling for the crowd. he freestyles for himself which i kinda respect more than someone who freestyles to show off to the crowd. plus when he raps freestyle he continues without a single pause  at all

so, KJs, for fun, gimme a karaoke beat for me to throw on for him. i'm running out of stuff for him to freestyle over. he said give him any beat.

let's avoid rock karaoke beats for now

if i can remember any of the songs i threw on for him to rap to, i'll include them

i'm trying to find karaoke song beats that aren't too long since again he doesn't pause at all when he freestyles, not even during the karaoke chorus. i don't know why he feels he can't take a break. so i don't want him up there for 6 minutes going blue in the face

i picked a couple of good karaoke song beats that matched his ability and was bouncy enough for the crowd but i can't remember any of them

also, the other week, this girl absolutely punk'd me. she asked to do notorious big's "juicy" for karaoke. but instead freestyled-- and this was at a different venue i'm at where nobody freestyles because i told everyone there's other venues for that

as she was freestyling, i looked her over and realized the 2 guys who seem to be hanging nearby her were probably her managers. she was actually very good. didn't cuss either. i wanted to cut her off, but it was too late, she got the crowd on her side. after she finished i had to make my announcement that there's no freestyling, please no 100 freestylers show up next week, it's not gonna happen.

i haven't been punk'd by a freestyler in awhile. they're always playing their hand first, so i can spot their motive and shut it down. her outfit didn't give her away. nothing about her gave her away at all. no demo to pass me. didn't ask me first if freestyling is ok, you know the usual suspects. that was the other reason i didn't cut her off. they figured out how to get me. she wrote the song on a slip. waited her turn patiently. again, nothing in her outfit said otherwise.

What does the way one dress have to do with free-styling? How is it a give-away to you?
