I found the below adapter on eBay, would it work to use it for connecting another computer to the mixer for either input or output ?

You really don't want to use the headphone jack on the computer as an audio output. It's designed for headphones. It will work, but won't sound as good as using a good soundcard or the mixers built in USB.
Also in theory the USB **should** be able to do both as far as playback and recording simultaneously, but don't quote me.

Update: I bought the Yamaha MG10XU and 2 Behringer B201D (PA) speakers, totaling about CDN$800 (less than US$600). Sounds great so far, very decent budget system. Thanks everyone for your advices and recommendations.

Anyone who has this mixer can provide me some assistance with recording to PC?
I downloaded and install the Yamaha driver, selected the MG-XU device for both input and output device. Playing music from the PC to the Mixer is no problem, but no sound from Mixer to PC for recording, the sound level shows 0, no sound in Audacity.

No fan of Behringer here but they should be fine.
Carvin isnt sold in retail stores only in their own store and internet. Partly how they can keep their prices low and quality high.

No not a recommend, but if that is the budget, it should be fine.
