Don't forget the first old home computers ( late 1980's something, and Radio Shack)used cassette tapes like we use hard drives now, I had one. Oh so slow. Basic was the programming langue.

Yeppers . . . my 1982 Timex Sinclair 1000 was an Awesome Beast! Especially with the massive 16K expansion pack (Yes that's K as in kilobytes not MB, Not GB). Wrote my first programs in basic on it and was hooked on puters from then on.

We're talking some 80's and 90's productions here. Many of these songs were never done on disc or are unavailable now if they were.

She recorded a couple of cd's back in the early 90's at a tv studio with some of these. She still has the cd's with her doing lead and backup vocals but no karaoke version of the songs.

Judds - In my Dreams (I just uploaded her cd version of this in the showcase)
Suzy Bogguss - Yellow River Road

These are the first 2 she wanted that I have never found anywhere else.
Guess I'll have to pull the old teac dual deck out of the closet.

Are they the kind of cassettes with the graphics?

lol uncontrollably. Kirks, that sentence just cracked me up.(my apologies)
Sorry, never heard of cassettes with graphics.

Now I'm hurt. You've been around long enough to have heard of some of the old and not really good formats. It was something just before CD+G's took hold. Crappy at best, I was at a house party and we got drunk and sang our asses off. The next time I did karaoke it was to a CD+G, much better.

I’ve been googling the sound choice super k machine/cassettes with tv hooked-up to it, graphics/lyrics showing on the monitor tv but no such luck. The same goes for the singalodeon karaoke cassette player.

This must be the time when I was growing up in the Philippines & therefore not aware of its introduction to consumers. If I do find one I will eat my words & profusely apologize once again to Kirk.

In the meantime, to add little humor to this thread check out this funny Singalodeon cassette player vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Mv7HFE7f6g

btw back panel only shows rca audio out (red & white), no rca vid (yellow)

Karaoke was on VHS too. U-Best had a VHS line out for a short time. I'm sure others did as well, but that one sticks out as they actually had a commercial on TV and someone was explaining how to pronounce karaoke - as careeoke and not the proper way.

I wonder if anyone has a copy of that commercial. That would be fun to watch!
