My latest obsession (aside from Karaoke Scene of course), is the game Gothic (well, now Gothic 2).
It's a bit obscure, but one of the best RPGs we've run across. Just the story line, the fighting, quests etc. are awesome. Graphics are good too.

Knightshow..
Oh my, my husband used to be OBESSED with Age of Empires, drove me friggin nuts! (I don't play games;) no, the WORSE game, the most boring game to watch, is escape velcity. My, you have to be a mac nerd... oops, I better shush, i think it is out for pc now.... It kind of reminds me of one of those older.. text based rpg's.. but, then.. not. Just odd story lines, plots. But, he always gets going on a kick with that game, and I never get him off the computer at night. Thank goodness for homework now:)
Why did I feel the need to share this info? Why do i EVEr?! Ack.

it IS highly addictive... to build your civilization up, while defending against either invaders, or being an invader! !

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! GILLYY!!! I FEEL FOR YOU!!! NOT ESCAPE VILOCITY!!!!!!!!!!!
My hubby plays that ALL THE TIME!!!! (well.... when I'm at work of course... cuz otherwise I'M on the 'puter! !) He plays AOE too... I'm SO not a game person, but he can literally sit on the computer and play that damn thing for HOURS!!! he spent 9 hrs once playin that stupid game. In ONE SITTING.... good grief!!
the only game I ever really got "into" was Sims.... I have a whole wack of the expansion packs.... But then I got too good... and now it's boring! ! (and NO I didn't use that stupid cheat code to get all kinds of free money... I did it the hard way! !)

Was a Diablo/Diablo 2 nut for the longest time. Did a lot of Team Fortress/Counterstrike on the pc too... Last 6 months I've moved all my gaming to a console though (x-box) to keep the pc free for other stuff.
BTW, Halo 2 kicks butt!
