If you are a baritone, you won't typically get as enthusiastic a reaction. People like high notes and respond to them with applause.

I have a few songs where the "money note" is really a low. People love these songs, and I get constant praise from people about them. They don't clap enthusiastically, though. On the other hand, I have a couple of songs where the "money note" is a high. These get enthusiastic reaction.

The big opera singers? All tenors. There have been very few big pop baritone stars since Frank Sinatra.
