I know that this is very early notice, but that's the best time to actually plan.
I'm going to be spending 5 days/4 nights in Vegas between Dec 17 to Dec 21. I'll be staying at The Excalibur, so if anyone else is thinking of planning a trip out to Vegas that coincides with my schedule, maybe we can hook up.

But I hope you got one helluva price at the Excalibur. I've been to Vegas twice a year for the last 15 years and it's now one of the elderly hotels on the strip. Honestly it would be close to the bottom on hotel choices. There are deals to be had at MUCH nicer places as there is still a glut of rooms in LV.

I've been to Vegas about 6 times over the years. The first time I went, I stayed at The Excalibur. After that, I've always stayed at The Las Vegas Hilton, because I've gotten room comps to stay there. The last time I was in Vegas, was 5 years ago, for my Best Friend's Wedding.
I had a Airfare credit from Jet Blue that was expiring soon, so I had to book something. I decide to go to Vegas in December. Jet Blue had a pretty good deal on their Combo Airfare/Hotel packages, so I chose Excalibur. I had one or two better deals, but I didn't want to stay at Circus Circus or The Stratosphere (both at the North end of the Main Strip). Excalibur is one of the closet hotels to the airport, so it will be my cheapest cab fare to and from. As for traveling up and down the strip, I have the Monorail system. And, if I want to check out Downtown Vegas, I have the bus. Besides, as far as Hotels are concerned, I only plan to spend time in my room to sleep. My Vacation will be spent OUTSIDE of my room, in the different Casinos, and at a show or two.

I've got me a ticket to see "Ka" (Cirque du Soleil) and I've also got a ticket to see "Evil Dead: The Musical." I'm debating if I want to get a ticket to see Penn and Teller. Other than that, I will probably check out a Comedy show and do some Karaoke.
Anyone planning on coming down to Vegas between 12/17 to 12/20, let me know. I'd love to hook up with you if I can.

I have seen Penn & Teller in Vegas. Better if you are closer to the stage but a good show regardless even if they are just phoning it in at this point.
I like the Mandalay Bay....

If you like Magic and Comedy catch Matt King's show at Harrahs. One of the best bangs for the buck as far as live shows!

Terry Fator's show is DA BEST! He makes those puppets just come to life that you'll think they're alive! If you get a chance, go check him out! I watched him on AGT when he won, and I saw him 5 years ago (when I was last in Vegas... he was playing at the Las Vegas Hilton at that time). I would have loved to have seen Jeff Dunham, but he's going to be out there the week before and the week after I am there. And the few times that he's been on tour in my area (NY, NJ, PA), it's been on dates that I couldn't go due to either work or other plans. BUMMER!!!!

If so, I can't believe he is still there! I saw his show there in 2003, and if I could I would post a pic of the shirt I got him to sign after being called on stage to sign the bill that was torn up and then appeared in his shoe or something (it has been awhile!)

Going on a tangent here... I can't wait for this upcoming Monday. I am going on (what I am referring to) my Ultimate Life-Long Dream Vacation. I'm going to Bucharest for 1 week to celebrate Halloween. I will be staying at Dracula's Castle on Halloween Eve. I've always loved Halloween, so this vacation is going to be very special for me. Here's the Itinerary: http://www.dractours.com/itinerary.htm I've known about this tour for over 12 years now, and in the last 3 years, I started to make inquiries about it. This year I finally committed myself to going.

I'm one of those folks that spends a LOT of time on my house for the big night, including the lighting, fog machines, sound effects, and live participants. I would give my left lung to go on that trip. Thanks for sharing, and let us know how it went for you.

It's almost 5 AM here in Bucharest right now, and I only got 3 hours sleep. My flight leaves in 3 hours, so they will be taking us to the Airport in a few minutes. I'll post a line or two in the "So, How was Your Halloween" topic thread, and then start catching up on everything else when I get home in about 12 hours (or maybe 36 hours (after I pass out for 24 hours or so)).

*** Old post deleted and modified today (12/22/2014)... ***
Vegas was great!!!! Sorry I didn't get to meet anyone from k-scene.
I lost about $800 in gambling, but I also spent a small fortune doing other things as well... and some things I never thought I would ever do.
Shows: Evil Dead: The Musical Ka (Cirque Du Soleil) Marriage Can Be Murder (an interactive Dinner/Murder Mystery Show)
Attractions: CSI at the MGM Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum
Things I never thought I would do: Sky Dive (the real thing in Henderson) Zip-Lining (also, the real thing in Boulder Creek).
