which city would you choose?

just for one night. it has to be a city where you're not already a KJ

for one night, maybe somewhere in New York City

i don't know if i want Manhattan, Brooklyn or Harlem

i'd also like to try a city in the south for one night. can't think of where...

Dallas.....
Austin....

And of course any city in New Jersey while using all of my Sound Choice content.

aye, for folks who KJ in Canada, i'm wondering: how much american music is sung vs canadian? is there a lot of french karaoke,

Just so you know, Harlem is in Manhattan.

Canada is a BIG country with many regions, and I suspect our playlists vary the same way they do in the U.S. We may hear a bit more Canadian content, but I don't suspect our playlists are much different. Let's face it, there's not much Canadian Karaoke that isn't also popular south of the border ... (e.g. Shania Twain, The Guess Who, The Band, Anne Murray).

As for French Karaoke... even though I have a hundred or so French language tracks in my library, only two have ever been sung in my shows... and even at that, one of them is bi-lingual. That's especially strange since many of the folks in this area have French as their mother tongue.

I'd like to do a show in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada... for no other reason than, I was born there... but moved away more than 60 years ago... and have only managed to get back to visit a few times.

Come to think of it... perhaps I'll do just that, when I go to visit next summer.
Bring along my laptop... rent equipment... maybe even play for free... just to say that I've done it.

Thanks for starting this thread... Now, I have something to plan for, and look forward to for next summer.

yep. i'm aware. harlem is in the manhattan borough of NYC

but i still meant what i said. i can't decide if i'd like to KJ a show in the 'residential' part of harlem (read: blue collar/neighborhood) or do a show in the business part of manhattan (read white collar/districts) though harlem is in manhattan

Well considering i don't have any gigs at the moment, I could say anywhere that was within a 1 hour driving radius.


But ya, I would love to do a show overseas somwhere like in London or Paris. The laws concerning karaoke are MUCH more reasonable

If possible, Camp Leatherneck Marine Base or Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan.

What better way to show support & appreciation to our troops by bringing them just a little bit of home-style karaoke entertainment; it will be a welcome respite from the demands of their daily grind, combat & family separation. It will be a hit! Hard to fathom, I know, why there – well, only people in the military or served in the military will understand.

But like I said it’s not possible to get approval from the Armed Forces Entertainment (AFE). They typically showcase big pop artists & celebrities alike & I don’t fit into either category.
