I'm kinda partial to old R&B music of the Wilson Pickett, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Bobby Blue Bland, Gladys Knight, The Coasters or The Platters variety... and don't hear it nearly as much as I'd like. Unfortunately, my voice is more suited to old country (a la Merle Haggard & George Jones) so that's what I tend to sing.

i wouldn't mind hearing more folks do more 80s/90s rap/hip-hop

Public Enemy
LL Cool J
Heavy D

and though some of y'all are sick of it, i wouldn't mind more folks singing more light rock songs that i like. specifically, i'd like more of my excellent soul & r&b regular singers to sing more light rock classics

Well at the bars that I frequent, I just wish people would actually pick music that actually suits their voice.

I am sick of the people who are decent singers, but will pick songs that they absolutely BUTCHER because it is completely outside of their range and skillset.

Mind you, I have been guilty of the same thing, so I guess I shouldn't complain too much

i'd like folks to sing more upbeat songs, in general

have you ever sat back and observed how many slow songs folks sing during karaoke?
