Hi folks,
Firstly, I am a newbie on this forum and setting up my own karaoke set up at home for personal use. Since you guys were talking about Karma, I thought I'd post my question here. If I'm in the wrong thread, please point me in right direction.

I downloaded the demo version and it worked. I was very impressed. Then, the next time I started the program up. It gave me an error message about some .dll file missing (unfortunately, I didn't keep the message). Anyway, I uninstalled and reinstalled the program, and now it won't even open after the installation (tried opening from desktop icon as well as thru Start menu). Anyone has any opinion/comment?

Re-install Karma to a different directory. This will force Karma to refresh DLL's and possibly re-download the .NET libraries for a clean install.

Yes. Why waste your time with Karma? Have you tried CompuHost? It's the best karaoke hosting program you can get. Give it a try:

Really, Alan? You really want to start this debate again? I'll say it again (what I've been saying all along). To each his own. It's all about personal preference. And let's leave it at that!

There you have it! Lon & bazinga just strengthened my claim regarding personal preference. Might as well get the ball rolling again (thanks to you, Alan). Let’s hear it from others. As for me, I tried all the rest; I ended up with THE best. Karma! It won't get any better than that!

Brian, I knew you'd chime in when you read my response. :D You are so predictable!

By the way Brian, I just noticed your new avatar in which you're wearing a cowboy hat. May I just say this:

Not everyone can look good in a hat like that but you do my friend! No joke, you certainly do! :)

Brian, there's really nothing to debate. CompuHost is the best there is; end of story.

You know I'm just messing with you, good buddy. :) (But it is true about CompuHost.)

I've tried them all... (almost)... and have even purchased a couple... but I keep going back to

Winamp.

I don't use nor need bumper music, scrolling names, additional advertising, so Winamp fits my needs perfectly.

That was a good answer, Chris. Hopefully, it will do the trick. Oh, by the way; how are those speaker stand skirts working out for you? :D

The best program is the one that works the best for you. Just so happens that Karma works the best for me.

That isn't a blog.....that is an advertisement.

Swapping to CompuHost would cost me $1800 at retail pricing - Never going to happen.

Not to mention the training time to teach 9 hosts how to operate something new.

Advanced features = More Complexity

Should be be starting a thread called "What makes a karaoke show? The Host? Or the Hosting Software?" ?

I'm sorry, Brian. I guess I don't know when to stop. I hope you'll forgive me; sometimes I go too far.

As a gesture of friendship, and to say I'm sorry, I'm sending you this T-Shirt. I hope you like it.
