Three days from today, some of the best female karaoke singers in the Coachella Valley and Southern California will be at Neil's Lounge in Indio for the 2nd Annual Talent Quest Coachella Valley Southern California Regional Karaoke Contest.

Who will be the best in each of three categories, Pop, Country, and Masters? Who will win a one week stay at the Tropicana Resort in Laughlin, NV and a chance to represent Southern California at the 14th Annual Talent Quest National Karaoke Contest?

I have no clue who will win because I will be in Redmond, WA.

Has anyone else noticed that, so far, only guys have made any sort of comment to this post?

Normally I live less then 17 miles from there, but not this summer. Too HOT!!!

What a ladies competition we had. The talent was amazing from the vocal ability to the outfits worn by the contestants.

I commend all of our contestants on their willingness to "step out of the box", dress up and put themselves in front of a packed house, with judges, and perform. Ladies, you are no longer mere karaoke singers, you are true performers and should be very proud.

I want to commend our judges for volunteering for such a tough assignment. The competition was so tight that judges were actually getting up to see what our contestants were wearing for shoes. The scoring was consistent across the board with our judges.

I found out after the contest, that there were talent scouts in attendance on the first day of the competition, and that some of our contestants were approached by the scouts.

The three finalists in the Pop category were: Madison Cardamone, Yucca Valley, CA, Miriam Kim, Murrieta CA, and Alina Zayas, Burbank, CA.

The three finalists in the Masters category were: Riva Rivas, Thousand Palms, CA, Lucy Rodriguez, San Marcos, CA, and Sandra Tesinsky, Indio, CA.

The three finalists in the Country category were: Madison Cardamone, Yucca Valley, CA, Erin Hawkins, West Holloywood, CA, and Miriam Kim, Murrieta, CA.

The individual category winners were: Pop - Miriam Kim, Masters - Riva Rivas, and Country - Erin Hawkins.

The two women with the highest overall scores, regardless of category, that will be representing Talent Quest Coachella Valley and Southern California at the 14th Annual Talent Quest National Karaoke Contest are, 1st Place overall - Miriam Kim and 2nd Place overall - Erin Hawkins.

The Men's competition concluded this past weekend.

The three finalists in the Masters category were: John Castanien, Palm Desert, CA, Art Gramata, Chula Vista, CA, and Ishmael Luna, Choachella, CA.

The three finalists in the Country category were: Tommie Douglas, Palm Springs, CA, John Castanien, Palm Desert, CA, and Pat McWilliams, San Diego, CA.
