I like the suggestion of serious threads and threads for fun. It can be frustrating to open a thread and be interested in the opinions that are "voiced" in that thread only to find banter going on that has nothing to do with the original topic. I have seen forums where the only distinction necessary is the title of the thread.

Just my 2 cents...

Susie

thank you kass... and I've heard from Steven.

I DID get uppity, as is usually the case when I'm accused of something I've not done. Although I can see how this whole thing happened with Tig mentioning me and other people saying my name that I was a part of this whole thing.

you guys HAVE to understand that both Tig and I train as warriors, and take self defense and likewise challenges very seriously. Tig moreso than I do. Also there's the familiarity concept. I'm very sure that Kass and Steven know each other quite well as online buddies... so they have a history together and know each other's responses.

The same is true of Tig and myself.

So Steven's comment he made coming from me wouldn't have gotten the response that it did from both Tig and myself. I was initially worried that Steven was just joking, and was really trying to test the waters saying "are you sure"... kinda stuff.

I mentioned on another site where I got ambushed at my gig and had to fight off six people. The owner of the bar said he'd never seen anything like that. Usually a fight happens between one or more adversaries, not five people all of a sudden jumping on someone.

The point I'm making is, fighters don't often joke that much about stuff like that. and as Steven pointed out to me in a PM, and has been talked about ad nauseum on many, MANY sites... the cold written word is very easily misunderstood. That's why I was trying to find out exactly what was said, almost cause I could see the wheels workin'...

you just don't say some things to trained m.artists.

Now Tig's the biggest joker around, and is full of sarcasm. Like he's said... love him or hate him. He honestly doesn't care one way or the other. For close friends, I don't think that's the case... but for nearly everything else, it probably applies!

IM REALLY GLAD YOU AND STEVEN DISCUSSED IT..HES A GREAT MAN...

WOW SOME FIGHT...BUT TELL THAT OWNER TO COME TO THE SOUTH..THATS HOW FIGHTS GO ROUND HERE ...EVERYONE SEEMS TO HAVE FIVE BROTHERS WHO ALL JUST HAPPEN TO BE AT THE BAR..WHEN YOU TICK SOMEONE OFF! LOL..I REALLY AM SERIOUS!

yeah....

Tig's comment also was geared around a couple clubs we've been trying to get into. We were at the Billygan's in Tualaten... and we'd STILL like to have a presence on the West side.

trust me, if Tig ever felt the need to threaten, he wouldn't say anything... it would just happen!

Matt I was a cop (military so warrior and all that other crap) and I could see very clearly that Steve wasn't serious at all. Especially by the way he wrote it (cheesy old west style). How ridiculous.

Okay, I believe this little misunderstanding has been settled?

No hard feelings I hope amongst all members involved?

If you guys continue I may just have to whoop all your butts!

Kass, thank you sweetheart... I know you're just trying to be supportive...
Timberlea, Thank you as well. I thought it was pretty obvious, myself.
Phil, I apologize to both, you, and to Kass, for turning this thread into something like this. Talk about straying from the original topic huh? LOL!

Yes Phil, as far as I'm concerned, this is old news. I WILL say that I WAS somewhat shocked by Matt's post. The last I had heard from him, in a PM, was that he intended to post an apology. Naturally, I came back prepared to say...No hard feelings. UNTIL I read what he actually posted. He was VERY different in the PM. Very cordial.

However, reading back, over the entire thread, I can see where I could have responded differently to Tig's comment, when he asked if that was a threat. I could have simply said, of course not. I don't actually call people out into the street at high noon for a shoot out! LOL! So I accept "partial" responsibility. The whole thing just got way out of hand....

Lastly, I was not in the slightest bit intimidated by all the talk of Martial arts and "warriors". I'm not trying to rekindle anything here, but just wanted to make that PERFECTLY clear!

As Kass would say, Anyhowsodaggumever, that's more than enough said on this issue.

Steve

Tim, I didn't get that feeling TOTALLY, but I did get it. The point was, it COULD have been taken that way.

Add a smiley face or goofy image, and I'd have been convinced. There are times I can't figure out if you're serious or not. There are times I can't figure out if others are joking or not. The net does not grant special abilities to determine if people are serious or not.

I'm glad you have the answers. Maybe it's the canadian beer! LOL!

And yes Phil, as far as I'm concerned, in the language of the Jamacians, "Everyting Ivory, mon!" (translated to "Everything's Alright, man!") Besides, you being a bounty hunter ... and your other background, I believe ya, I BELIEVE ya!

Matt (lookin' for the canadian brewskis!)

oh, so there's official ways to say it, huh?

okay, whatever! LOL!

and I thought I had said it, but scrolling upwards, I can't clearly see where I DID say it.

To all, I'm sorry to have gotten concerned over the initial tangent this thread turned into... I don't think I ever did anything wrong... in fact, I was trying to help out abit when I sensed danger signals.

I did apologize to Steven in PM, and I'm formally doing it now. The quoted post above was written before I'd ever responded to any pms.

On a different note, I have a lot of family issues that have suddenly cropped up. Once I know more, I'll post more. But I may be leaving for Missouri very suddenly (before Thxgivin')...

Speaking of hijacking.....This is Gill's husband writing-

As for canadian beer... I recommend Anything made by Unibroue, (like, la fin du monde) Propellar, Granite, and Garrison.... (and, most of those are probably spelled wrong, blame it on the beer) And I am jealous, I wish my wife worked at the liquor store....

Besides... you can't consider molsen to be canadian, it is owned by an american brewey now.. a large percentage of their shares was sold to an american company....

Lol, I am canadian? More like, i am american:)

And, to ramble more, Labatt isn't even owned by a canadian company, they are owned interbrew, in belgium...

sounds like a plan, Steve. It all depends on my father.

He lost his wife to a battle of cancer. Now he's entrenched in his grief... he didn't even tell me she died. I just found out. I've been trying to get ahold of him, but can't. Once I know more about the situation (trying to get him to come up here to spend the holidays), I'll let you guys know.

My uncle (my dad's brother) successfully fought off prostrate cancer with treatments and surgery. Now he's dying of Lymph node cancer, and the chemo's killing him.

And my mother's stepdad, the man I call grandpa, his brother died of a sudden massive...

I woke up today knowing something was wrong after only a couple of hours of sleep... so you can guess at the day I've been having!

thanks for the well wishes everyone!

Matt, I am so very sorry to hear about all that! Geez, that's an awful lot for "anyone" to have to deal with. Man, now I REALLY feel stupid about all this silly nonsense in this thread. Matt, I know what it feels like to lose someone that you love. There is nothing worse than that! I hope that you can help your father through this extremely difficult time. I'm really sorry, matt!
