How sad I don't see Dusty Springfield on any of these lists.

Only one I hear on rare occasion is Son Of A Preacher Man.

3 songs of Dusty out of 10 listed get played often: Wishin’ & Hopin’, Son Of A Preacher Man & You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me. Great songs! :)

My favorite Dusty Springfield song is also my favorite Bay City Rollers song:
"I Only Want to Be with You"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0oSHtxdPus

I think I sang it once, but other than that, I'm not sure I've heard it.
Someone sing it, it's awesome!

I compiled the top 500 most sung songs at our show for the last year if anyone is interested.

http://www.lonmanproductions.com/top500songs.htm

How fortunate you are to have only sat through Bohemian Rhapsody eleven times this year.
Here, it has been very popular for the past couple of years and gets sung about four times a week (sometimes every night) by various groups of drunk partiers who wreck it so badly, so often, that when the occasion arises that a group comes along and does an amazing rendition it goes unnoticed because most of the audience has learned to "tune it out" or gone outside to smoke.

Your list makes me think you have a group of experienced karaoke singers who don't beat the same songs to death every night.

Are you actively doing something to encourage your singers to expand their repertoires?

I try to encourage regulars to break-out from their habitual songs, but I found that they have to be around for about a year or so before they get comfortable enough to try new things. It used to be most nights I could look around the room and guess the regular's playlist for the night with ninety percent accuracy; after much encouragement, I'm down to about fifty percent.
However, I still hear many of the standards the regulars used to sing because when they drop a song, someone else often picks it up.

This is a song I usually put up personally for a closing group song. Typically will get whoever is left in the bar up on stage - sometimes only a few but have had as many as 10 people on the stage with a few singing around it. It's not a song that most put up by themself.

Only thing I do that I hear them complain about other kj's is I try to get what they actually want to sing. Sometimes they will ask to throw them up for something that I think might fit their voice. I have a ton of songs done once that were either suicides or some other scenerio. Otherwise, i've always said we get a nice diverse crowd that don't hash out the stereotypical karaoke songs over and over - sure if you look at the list you will probably find many that could be construde as typical karaoke songs, but you will also see many that have probably never been attempted or even heard of at other shows. My repeated song that I used to like is Snuff - Slipknot - this is my "My Way" (which didn't even make the top 500 - it was sung 8 times throughout '13) equivalent at many other shows. Number 2 spot on my list. I figured about 3,572 individual song titles were sang last year, just over 2,000 of those were tried at least 1, 2 or 3 times. I have alot of regulars who pretty much rely on their same songs, but then MANY regulars who purposely try not to sing the same songs over. We also get a lot of local musicians (I used to run sound for many of these bands) so I think that helps as well.

Interestingly enough the ones that I often hear trying something new are usually the newbies to the club that don't know anyone yet.

I used to get a few new song requests a week, now I'm getting a few new song requests a night it seems. Many of which aren't even available on karaoke which really sucks.

Here's the top 200 from a Midwestern seven day venue.
This report is a full year from May 2013 to May 2014.
I find the differences between northwest and midwest interesting, but much of the top 100 on this list can be attributable to regulars who sing the same songs every time they sing which I would credit to their personal taste and ability rather than regional differences. Many of these singers just don't seem to be willing to step out of their comfort zone and try something new. Fortunately, there are enough that do so the shows don't become too repetitive, but those don't get reflected in the top songs lists.
By the way, the top forty on this list will usually send half the crowd outside for a smoke break.

My top song list is closer to earthlings as well.
I will see if I can get a list compiled to post.

Mine as well but with a few newer songs/artists added in like Bruno Mars, One Direction, Avicii, Capitol Cities, John Legend, and Trey Songz.

Thanks for posting lists guys :)

Looks like I have 35 from Lonman's list and 65 from Earthling's done regularly.

I also have a "Sail" frenzy. Have both the Lynyrd Skynyrd and Shinedown versions of "Simple Man" done. "For What It's Worth" is done by a fellow from the same era of the song who often has a youngun join in, shocked that he even knew it. They have teamed up on "Eve Of Destruction" also.

I would add in Avicii's "Wake Me UP," One Republic's "Counting Stars" and Zedd's "Clarity" as the newer ones being done. "Stay" is done almost nightly but it's the Rihanna one and not Sugarland. The Passenger song is also being done and American Author's "Best Days."

Most of the country being done is the older stuff but have had some people do the Keith Urban duet "We Were Us."

I'm doing a Tween party this Sat. and was told to forget Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez and One Direction--They want The Beatles. Taylor Swift and Fun were still on the list, though.

For anyone who cares, these are what were sung at our shows last month. The top 100 (124 actually) are bolded, but this time I actually showed all songs sung and how many times each.

Nice mix of songs, Lonman. Funny that I just had the Bee Gees Too Much Heaven going through my mind yesterday. It's one of those songs that is difficult to remember the title to until you have sang all the lyrics through your mind.

I didn't know Weird Al had done a parody on Poker Face. I'll have to look it up.
