ok well.....MOST people here want to be on a site with little drama and argument right? Correct me if I'm wrong....

So... if someone has an idea.... why critisize it? If there's gonna be a new feature to the site.... why argue or make someone feel like their idea doesn't have merit? If you don't like the feature that they're comin' up with. Then don't use it. Is this somehow more complicated than that?

I'm reminded by a thread that HeatherDavis started (that got hijacked !!) about the fact that there wouldn't BE any drama if nobody brought up the fact that there's so much drama!! So many people are sick n tired of all the bickering...... so.... stop the bickering ABOUT the bickering.... and there won't be any bickering.

and... Not that it matters, but I'VE heard Tig sing, and he's fantastic.... And, NO I'm not just sayin that because I call him a friend. He sings "Walkin in Memphis" like no one else..... But like I said... how does that matter at the moment? How does that have ANYTHING to do with the ideas coming forth here?

Kathy I appreciate your saying in your post to the newcomers to jump in and join the fun; that was kind and commendable of you.

...but THAT IS WHAT NEW PEOPLE HAVE been doing and it doesn't work. I've been there, I've done that, and I've seen others do it too. Why do you think people would actually stop subbing - would just flat out stop doing something (singing) that brought them pleasure - unless the SS had just become too unbearable?

I'm sorry if it makes you guys uncomfortable but there is a group here who are happy as pups with each other and that doesn't let newbies in.....and that'd be cool and peachy as hell if the site belonged to them, but IT DOESN'T. It belongs to Karaoke Scene and by Allah if I was one of the moderators I'd be all over that SS making it welcome to anyone and everyone. I don't know why they don't, unless they just enjoy the resulting drama from letting one group reign. Hear me, mods? Nope, didn't think so.

Guess I should have made it clear...I was responding to your quote that the top subs list is a joke.... and every other comment you've made here in the forum about the unjust system.... gee... did I go off topic? I guess I'll have to really try and pay more attention ..... silly me!

Needed to add something...when I first came here, Karaokemeister, Snoopy, and BHB totally would answer my posts. Thanks you guys; I didn't want to neglect acknowledging that. All the countless times I couldn't figure out how to record, and I'd be on here begging and pleading for help cuz I was so frustrated; those were pretty much the only ones who'd give me the time of the day for the longest time. Don't think I didn't notice, and scratch my own head wondering.

And Tig, thanks for the compliment on my above post; as usual, I love your posts. You articulate incredibly....I admire that so much. The thing with confident, outspoken, big-cahones writers is that they say things some people don't want to hear. Thank You Tiggr for always taking that risk. I will be admiring that chutzpah til I croak.

what else can I say that crystal and tigger haven't??? only that I am NOT the only one who has brought this bias and resulting problems up, simply the newest incarnation of the messenger... many have brought it up before and been ground into the dirt for even suggesting a clique or "family" existed... yet even in this thread it is admitted by my opponents that these things do exist and these things do happen... I've gotten plenty of email and PM's from members who share the same opinion but are afraid to publicly say it or be seen as agreeing with me... how can you say that the comment fluff, clique (family whatever makes ya feel better), and the tit for tat game exists and that is an OK way of doing things??? newbies should not have to deal with that intimidation when trying to sub only to learn they need to somehow weasel their way into a "family" just to have people listen to their subs... if that is the way it has to be then the front page of this site needs to read "EVERYONE IS WELCOME" and then in small print "only if you kiss the right tush and your fluff is extraordinary- talent is optional" -

Before I post more, I gotta say Kathy thank you for responding and listening to us...you're not even getting nasty and insulting (like some of us have experienced too many times), you seem like you're trying to listen to what I'm saying. That's all any of us here want basically. And to me, this thread is constructive. It doesn't seem to be dissolving into insults and attacks.

Kass, I've tried to fit in here. People don't want honest comments on their stuff. BHB was really the only honest reviewer I ever had. Did I agree with his comments... no not really, but I loved the fact that I asked for it, and he gave it to me. I felt I EARNED that seven from him, even though , yes, I felt I deserved better.

Now, I've also had friends say very nice things on my subs. And some nice people that visited that said some nice things. And I smiled, and thought that was really nice. THEN I go to listen to the songs that were in the top ten (back when I was subbin'), and I was going "WHAT ARE THEY LISTENING TOO?" "THIS is a TEN???" And then I saw the same, kind people stroking up the egos of these people that wee CLEARLY fives or sixes. Not everyone. There's some truly talented singers here. But there are also some really average ones. AND to be rated as AVERAGE or even given comments that they're AVERAGE is NO SHAME TO ANYONE.

Not everyone can be a TEN. Lord knows I'm not. BUt when I'm rated at a SEVEN or an EIGHT, and I go and listen to those that are above and beyond me, I want to feel JUSTIFIED.

Ant this site SADLY gives no justification except for the following:

If THIS doesn't show people that TWO comments (and those were both by friends!!) vs 27 comments isn't showing the lie for what the cliques are... when people tell me ("it's the weekend", or "I don't have enough time", when 25 other people commented on another post is the greatest lie of all time.

And I DID go to many other people's subs. My piXX poor connection really keeps me from listening to others, but why should I have to go out and RECRUIT listeners if you guys ARE being so good and just and right here?

So If you want to believe that MERELY ADDING A NO COMMENT thing is worth all this strife and hype, then FINE, get upset all you want to.

I AM tired of the FLUFF games. I am tired of having to kiss bootie to get people to listen who are NOT friends of mine. I am tired of trying to HELP this site only to be slammed back by someone that can't understand we're TRYING TO HELP this site. We've had posters lately say things about the unfairness of not only the RATINGS given but also the "lovely" comments given by people... only to see those "lovely" comments given to other subs that you can see are clearly inferior.

Tig was attacked in his OWN subs for not commenting except to those that he considers companions. If you express the sLightest dissatisfaction, you get jumped on the threads... LIKE you're doing now KASS.

So TAKE YOUR CAPS and be happy with yourself. You're are exactly the reason this thread went nasty.

Matt, I noticed you've belonged to this site for 2 years now. I'm really curious: what was it like two years ago, one year ago, one 1/2 yrs ago compared to now? Was it always like this? Please assure me that it won't always be like this! If ya can.

hell I've only been here a couple months and I can tell ya that it's not ALWAYS like this....... gets brought up a time or two.... but there's fun times in between untill someone comes "looking for a fight" if ya get my drift......

to be honest, I can't tell you much, cause I joined the s.s. only in August! I was a member of the regular karaoke scene, and NOT the singer's forum.

Sorry my friend, can't give you the answers you need.

at the regular k.scene forum, it's just singers and kjs talkin' about our business and hobby, not participating in the showcase! A lot has spilled over, enough to encourage me to join here.

But I haven't been here at THIS part of it for that much longer than you have m'dear! Sorry!
