Hey y'all. Merry Christmas. is it legal to put my CB songs on my laptop to use at a karaoke show. I have compuhost and was asked to fill in next weekend for a friend. I don't want to have to use my original discs. thx for your info.

As long as you own the original discs, shouldn't be any issues. But depending on how many you have and they aren't already on the computer, you may not have them ripped in time before next week. I have a little over 900 cdg's that took almost 3 months at 5 hours per day.

thx for the info lonman, I didn't realize it would take so long. I guess that is out. I will have to use the discs but I don't have a songbook either. definitely not prepared to do this.

You may want to think about looking for a Karaoke rental place near you. You could possibly rent the SC bricks which would give you a really good foundation. Sign up at:

if you know you'll have internet access and you can download requests on the fly. That could supplement the CB whether you rent the bricks or not. With the bricks, you usually get a song list.

If you can't find a place to rent disc and since you have CompuHost, you may want to look at http://www.mykjmedia.com/
You don't need internet access at the show and you can print out their list for the show. Many of the songs on the list will be on your Chartbuster discs, and any song you unlock you will own. Add Tricerasoft to save a litte money as long as the internet is good, and you'll be all set.
