Has anybody seen this or know anything about it?
http://www.chartbusterkaraoke.com.au/
It makes it sound like somebody has taken over the Charbuster label/logo and is running with it in Australia.

Just looks like "New Old Stock" to me. Somebody bought up a lot of stuff they had laying around and opened a store in Australia. I'm sure that there are a lot of stores here in the U.S. that have leftover stuff too.

eBay is chocked full of old CB stock, apparently picked up through liquidation. Lots of Super CDGs that CB "never authorized" also became available, possibly from the karaoke gods who wanted to ensure the CB legacy carried on.

They only have sbi & sunfly available for downloads. Site ad dated Oct 9, 2013 - from this recent new distributors’ “acquisition” I wonder how it will play out with DT if they include cb for downloads in the very near future? ……….and the plot thickens! (just me speculating, folks).

I've bought several pristine, older Chartbuster cdgs NEW, shrink wrapped and no green tint from Ebay sellers operating out of Seymour, Tennessee for roughly $3 a pop plus shipping...

Am I asking questions? Nope!

Some salesmen from chartbusters have never quit selling the cdgs since they closed--all out of Seymour--thousands and thousands--check E-bay--some for less than 2.00--I dont mind but it sure is fishy

Gee. Do you mean to say that all CB discs weren't destroyed per the statement made when CB "closed it's doors"??!!??

I'm shocked, I tell you- simply shocked....

8) Especially since certified hosts were told that the discs in question, that were returned to CB were crushed in a giant compacting device of some kind, and destroyed. The reason for the destruction was to keep prices high and insure that DTE would be able to sell it's rehashed old CB product under the new DTE logo. One thing is for sure there would be little need for any host to steal CB content since so much cheap material is floating around.

So does this mean these are illegal?

8) That is what is confusing to me also I own original CB Essentials SCDG's that were produced at the time they were still authorized for production by CB. According to what I have read it is only this material PR is claiming the right to check in an audit situation. As far a material made outside this authorization time limit, PR is not claiming the right to check such material, at least that is what I have been led to believe. As of right now with so little time left in the business it would be not worth it for me to apply for an audit. Has any host managed to get a new audit from PR/DTE? The program was announced some time ago and I have not seen any up dates.

I was CB Certified and I was never told they excess was being crushed. I certainly didn't have a type of device described to me either.

I am pretty sure you are just speculating (making up) the bit about doing so to keep prices high on DTE products. Especially since their pricing is inline with other download companies.

Funny... I don't remember hearing any such thing. I don't even recall reading ANYTHING that stated any CB discs were (or had to be) returned to CB.

8) I hesitate to say I have seen this destruction of material posted on other forums, since hosts here want us only do deal with what is presented on this forum. I think smooth can verify that such a destruction situation was described and was later proved to be false. Since Ace karaoke ended up selling vast amounts of unsold CB material at fire sales, after this supposed destruction was to have taken place. I never believed that CB would destroy any product they could make a buck off of. This wasn't my idea it was an idea floated after the collapse of CB.

To say with confidence that the REASON for not destroying the product was to inflate DTE pricing though is a guess and potentially libelous.

That is what is known as HEARSAY.

And if, as you just said, it was proven to be false, then why did you bring it up in the first place??????????

8) Simply to demonstrate the amount of bogus material that does circulate on these forums. I don't make this stuff up it is what I have seen posted. I know if it's on the internet it must be true. Evidently there is enough old CB material floating around that it can be sold down under.

8) Chris you know and I know that price is set by the balance of supply and demand. During the Great Depression when people were going hungry, farmers destroyed milk and other food stuffs to keep prices stable. If thousands of CB discs were dumped on the market the effect would be to lower the value of the discs. CB discs that once sold for 15.00 or better are now going for 3.00 a piece.

You suggested that there was an intentional manipulation of product supply in order to keep DTE prices high.
