Halloween is a Thursday this year. The question has been posed to me of when to do a weekend celebration. My personal opinion is the weekend before on the 26th.

But that is almost a week before the actual night. One of my bars is thinking about doing it on Friday the 1st.

Is there anyone working a venue that is waiting until the 1st or 2nd to do Halloween contests?

8) I'm doing two Halloween pirvate parties one on the 25th and one on the 26th. Since my last day hosting professionally will be Oct 31st naturally nothing is booked after that date. I also have a venue doing Halloween on Thursday my last day.

Doing two venues the Friday before Halloween and a private event on NOV 2nd. As long as the venues get the word out (advertising) then it shouldnt be a problem. Good Luck!!

We have on bar on Sat the 26th, one on Friday Nov 1 and 1 on Sat Nov 2. I am not going to knock it because all the bars in our area are staggering their parties so I am expecting great turn outs for each party.

We’re having our Halloween party Sat, Oct 26. I think the vast majority of Halloween parties will be the weekend before. We conducted a poll & asked everybody, 70% wants it on the 26th. Turn-out Friday night might be a little less; people have to go home from work & then changed, dressed up, do the works with little time to spare unlike Saturday when they have all day to get ready.

But I think Nov 1st & 2nd being Fri & Sat would be great nights to party also. Our Halloween decorations will stay up until after Nov 2nd as we will be expecting people showing up in their costumes.

Sorry for the Hijack in advance...

And, for those of you who aren't doing shows, who is planning to dress up for any Karaoke Halloween shows (and on which (no pun intended) nights)?

I took a week vacation off from the Day Job and planned coverage for my shows so I could dress up and attend some parties and do some Halloween karaoke. But as it turns out, I picked up a new Thur/Fri/Sat night a week gig that starts on Thursday the 24th. I also have an early wedding to work on the 31st. So I will be working all day and running a show on Halloween. I may have someone in place to cover me for Fri/Sat though. If I do I plan on dressing up and going out.

Friday night boss decided to switch our annual halloween party from 10/25 to 11/1. Majority of parties are the weekend before. We should have a good turnout as there aren't many parties that night.

We always do the Friday before Halloween, so the 26th for us.

People have been coming to my shows in costume every week for about 4 weeks straight. I'm thinking for Halloween we will have to just dress normally to be different.
