I just purchased and downloaded the Country Hits of the month for Aug. 2013. I got an email receipt but all it shows is the date, invoice#, and customer# and the price. There is NO description of this being the Aug. 2013 Country Hits. So, how do I prove that this receipt is for these tracks when there is no description of what I bought???

Alan,
The package shows up in the Purchased Section on your Karaoke Cloud account. Just keep the receipt and we can match it up if there are any questions.

I really like the quality & pricing of DigiTrax karaoke. I really don't like the receipt not showing what I've purchased. I had hoped that this would change sooner than later. This day and age of having to prove that you paid for what you have makes this important to me.
I understand that it take time to build a website from the ground up. But I hope that DigiTrax realizes this is important to their customers and hope they make this change as soon as possible.

-Gretchen No hard copy for customer records? If for some reason- say an "outside" auditor is granted access to the KJs library, the KJ has nothing to show them. For instance, let's say the Publishers/Owners want to fool around with auditing. They won't want to second-source receipts, they will want to see what the KJ has. ....Or, to flip it around, why WOULDN'T DT include all information on the receipts just like any other purchase? NOTE: I have had no negative experience with DT, and no personal differences. This is actually the very first thing that they've done that seems a quite a bit off. Explaination please, Gretchen?

You can go to your purchase history and print that out or screen shot it and file it on your show computer--but it's a pain to do it every time you add tracks as they are in alphabetical order and not in the order purchased so you have to print the whole list each time. But at least you have some sort of copy for yourself.
But it would be much better if the receipts showed the purchases each time.

Online/Digital receipts are becoming the standard. Saves paper and easily accessible from any device. I get almost no paper bills any longer because I have opted in to online payments and statements. All of my day job expense receipt from hotels, airlines, car rental are online.
Just more evidence that the world is moving on.

Um, not quite. An IRS auditor would laugh at a receipt without any details, and wouldn't be about to search all of your online purchases.
1) How long would an inactive ( bought or had a subscription at one time, then not again)buyer's records be stored? Would they still be accessible to an inactive buyer say, 5 years from now? Even DT can't say for real, because it's a very young company and policy changes will be the rule until they get their feet under them.
Your screen shot MIGHT be acceptable in tandem with the receipt, but since it was not supplied by the company directly, there is some question.
For IRS purposes, a detailed receipt is required.
Now, just because I have to be me, a "conspiracy theory", and believe be, that's all it is. To repeat, I not only have no bone to pick with DT, I'm actually kind of tickled at some of the things they are trying to do these days.
HOWEVER: Even DT will tell you that while they may have the permissions to download to you, even they cannot give licensing for usage- as in being used for the basis for a karaoke show.
All good, so far. The thing is, they have Home Use and a PRO program. While just names and differences, one could convince a litigator that they were misled into believing they had said PRO permission. Hence, actual tracks printed on the receipt supplied by the company could help shift liability away from the KJ.
That's my "conspiracy theory" exlaination for not adding the tracks. If they send a physical receipt, what they print on it doesn't make creating the receipt any more difficult or costly.
I actually hope that I'm wrong, and that DT will correct the problem for the sake of their customer base, and that Gretchen will be kind enough to explain the current lack of details.

-Chris No one is arguing that an online receipt isn't acceptable. The problem here is the receipt just shows the amount paid and the date and not what was purchased. The on line purchase history shows everything bought but not the date so it is difficult to match it to the receipts. Also, I have had trouble with digital storage when I had an IRS problem. I could go on line and print out some records but the bank only keeps a certain amount of years on line and you have to apply for and pay for anything to be printed out beyond that. Plus they no longer return checks. So I had to go through that hassle of getting copies of my checks to show I was making house payments and not accepting them as they tried to claim. Not that it convinced the IRS of anything but that's another story. And if a company has gone out of business then too bad. Digital storage is a convenience for the companies but it does put the burden on the consumer to somehow either digitally store or print and maintain their own receipts/records.

-Chris And I am still a troglodyte who always asks for paper receipts because I like to have a paper trail.

I have 1 Custom disc which I had ordered/made from Sing to the World Karaoke over 10 years ago. It's the only disc I ever had made from them. I never kept the receipt (because at that time, it was the only custom disc I had ever had made, and I didn't think I would ever get any more Custom discs from anywhere). When I contacted them about 1 year ago, they couldn't find any record of my purchase either. I even gave them the order number (which they had printed on the actual disc label).

While I do keep the receipts mailed to me by KV and Tricerasoft, which is the only two places I've purchaed downloads that I can think of, I do not feel it's a huge risk if I do not have them. They already know more about my purchases than I do. It's kinda neat getting an email from KV saying I purchased enough songs for a freebee. DT may well be different, knowing where the base of their stuff came from and who that was.

The problem is, if I click on "Purchased" after logging on to karaokecloud.com, nothing appears. It's just blank and none of my purchases are there. However, if I click on "account" and then "view billing history" it shows my last order. But only the date, amount paid, and last four digits of my credit card number. Nothing appears under purchased! Gretchen, why is this?

Also... Why isn't DigiTrax using the standard file system? I had to re-do this because my hosting program won't recognize this. Here's a sample of one of the tracks I got from you:
C17781-D - Crow, Sheryl - Easy.zip
OK, first of all, we need at least two letters to designate the manufacturer's ID such as DT, CB, SC, etc. Next, what is with the letter? It should be a track number. Here's what it should be like:
DTC17781-04 - Crow, Sheryl - Easy.zip
A lot of hosting programs will not let you catalog the file unless the correct format is used. So I ask, Why DigiTrax, Why?

Second - Karma handles just about any kind of DiscID format there is. Including No DiscID at all or even not Artist. Third - Karma Rocks.

Second - Karma handles just about any kind of DiscID format there is. Including No DiscID at all or even not Artist. Third - Karma Rocks. First of all, I'm glad that you like Karma. I really am. I tried it and it doesn't even come close to how good and professional CompuHost is. And if you are referring that CompuHost can't read all of the naming formats, it certainly can. It will read and play files named in any of the following formats: DiscID-TrackNo - Title - Artist DiscID-TrackNo - Artist - Title Artist - Title - DiscID - TrackNo Title - Artist - DiscID - TrackNo Artist - Title (DiscID-TrackNo) Title - Artist (DiscID-TrackNo) Artist - Title Title - Artist Disc ID = {Parent Folder}\Track-Artist - Title Disc ID = {Parent Folder}\Track-Title - Artist Disc ID = {Parent Folder}\Artist - Title Disc ID = {Parent Folder}\Title - Artist Custom The problem is not with CompuHost not being able to recognize a file. I was stating that I have all of my files catalogued in the DiscID-TrackNo - Artist - Title format. That is pretty much the standard. And since I chose this format, this is the way I want everything catalogued. So, once again, the problem is NOT with CompuHost. It blows Karma away, you know. But again, I'm glad that you love Karma so much. If for one minute I thought Karma was so good, I'd be using it myself. Sorry if I rained on your parade. I'm sure you felt so cool thinking that CompuHost couldn't do it and couldn't wait to slam it. But the laughs on you because you're wrong. CH continues to shine.

I was trying to be humorous. Sorry you missed it.
I like Karma. It is professional too. It is absolutely a lot simpler to work with than CompuHost. I do like some of the CompuHost features and wish some of them were in Karma. But I don't think it is worth the extra expense or the learning curve when teaching new hosts how to work with it.
But I have to say I think my biggest complaint with CompuHost is that everything about it smacks of a Windows 3.1 application. That bugs me and is just something I can't personally come to terms with.
