Hi, my first post here.
When I record I find that my recording is not centered at zero. I can adjust it manually, but I have to do it for each track...and that's a pain. Is there a way to adjust it permanently?
Thanks.
Stan

Hi Stan

Yes and no to your question

The fact that you don't get the wave centered, is due to your audio card. It's something that happens, and the more professional and expensive the card, the less the DC offset (btw, that's what it is called) becomes.

To rectify this problem is as following:
#1 - Once completed with your recording, goto noise reduction (in CEP) and take the noise sample.
#2 - Apply the noise reduction to the whole song, and you will see that your DC offset is now zero!

Hope that helps.

Hi Allstar, I know how to correct the DC Offset. But I do it with every track I record because if I don't I can't get rid of the pops when I mixdown short tracks. I'm just looking for a way to default my sound card to zero so that I don't have to centre wave after each recording - it's just a pain that's all.

Big bucks on a new soundcard. That's the only way
