Hi, I am a newbie. I have tried several times to submit with no success. I am sure this is old hat to you folks, but I am frustrated. file is mp3...
I get a unknown error after a couple of minutes. Only thing I can think of is that I am on dial-up. I even tried to shorten file size as much as possible. Still no luck.. Can anyone help me ???? thanks hilltod

for a regular member (not a paid membership), you are limited to a 3MB file size. Use goldwave dot com (a terrific program) that you install on your pc to convert wavs to mp3 (and you can choose what KBPS to save it with... the lower the number, the smaller the size of the mp3... however, you lose quality if you go below 90.
For instance, MOST mp3s have a standard 128kbps setting. and that will take an average 40K .wav file and convert it to a 4.5K kbps mp3. If you change the mp3 setting to say 90kbps, and save it as another mp3, it'll make the size much smaller, say 3K.
Always listen to them and never save the mp3 as the original song, always save as a new one... put a (1) after it or something similar... that way if the quality goes down too much, you know you can go up a bit.
I've had good results going down to 2.5K using this procedure!

Goldwave is great and free, which is always a bonus .
Thanks for that tip about the bitrates KM, I have just tried it and it works well. I might actually be able to sub full songs now. Good for me not so good for those that have to listen .
