Trouble is they want to take the easy way out and make everyone pay again even those 5 to 10% who bought their ticket for the ride in the first place. I think the task they have set themselves has just got harder, much harder. It's lies like this one that make me question the point of being here in the first place.

timberlea wrote: Lone, you are the one who said you'd have your friend MAIL the discs, which have to go through CUSTOMS. As for your statement that Customs wouldn't know what they are or what to do with them, only shows your naivety. Wow you are really quite the man of the world aren't you Just to let it be know that I have mailed stuff from overseas that NEVER went through customs!!!!! How does that torque your jaws Mr. policeman? You think that you know everything about everything and I for one am quite tired of it. You come by with you hit and run attitude on just about everything anybody has to say and I have never for one seen you post anything positive about anything. GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE and come down to the real world and NO it does not center around CANADA nor the USA. If you can't post something positive please do not respond to ANY MORE OF MY POSTS!

What lies James it is plain the recent Supreme Court ruling in Kirtsaeng v John Wiley & Sons is going to make it harder for you to declare trademark infringement for the shifting of legally purchased copyrighted material. Applying the doctrine of first-sale, "the legal purchaser of a copyright-protected item may dispose of that property anyway he or she sees fit". It seems reasonable to me that if the item is still owned the owner of that product in question, has the freedom to shift that product to a PC if he or she sees fit. I think it will make it easier for the defendants to get the upper hand over the manus in the courtroom. Also it will make it harder for U.S. manus to keep legal foreign product out of the U.S. market. It will take some test cases to form a legal history, but that is just a matter of time. Have a legal day.

Wolf show me where Customs cannot check items coming into the country. How do you think duties and illegal items are caught through the mail? Talk about naive. Think Wolf, before spouting off things you do not know check them out. As for attitude, you have one heap of an attitude, especially when you think you can do whatever you like and to heck with the laws.

To make it clear:
Allegedly, licensing was agreed upon and paid for by the mfr. That is what has been "paid for".
Most (if not all) rights are reserved, including copyrights and trademark rights when the retail product is sold.
This means that you did not pay for, nor receive the right to MAKE COPIES or COUNTERFEIT the mfr's trademark.
There also seems to be confusion between the term "dispose of" and "use".

As for attitude, you have one heap of an attitude, especially when you think you can do whatever you like and to heck with the laws. I never said they can not check I think I said they do not check, and if they did we wouldn't have so much illegal drugs in this country. YOU have no idea what goes on at the Mexican/US border. I do as I see it all the time. Illegal drugs, guns, people, etc. do you really think that that they are looking for karaoke discs? I wish I had a picture of the way the Mexicans pack their trucks traveling to and from the border stuff packed so tight and so high that it would take a day just to unpack it to check it and that would be for one truck these trucks transverse the border by the hundreds every week. YOU don't live on the Mexican/US border or any where near it I DO! So don't tell me about spouting off about things I don't know. Try reading some news about TONS of Marijuana caught in a semi, and then think about all the ones that aren't caught. I don't think I can do what ever I want and the heck with the laws, I older than you, have more experience with the US laws than you. Just because you were JOE MOUNTIE doesn't mean you know dip squat about what goes on here in TEXAS. TEXAS may be a US state but it is a whole different world when it comes to stuff crossing the border. AS I SAID BEFORE IF YOU CAN NOT POST SOMETHING POSITIVE THEN DON'T POST ANYTHING. I will not be responding anymore to this nor will I post anything else here because YOU SEEM TO KNOW IT ALL and you can not be WRONG about anything. Others have called you out yet you don't know when to keep your mouth shut.......END OF CONVERSATION!!!!!

You were talking MAIL, a whole different animal and yes I have crossed at the Tijuana border. You weren't talking about foot/vehicle traffic or coyotes, you said mail. Or are you changing your story now?
