earthling12357. What sites would you recommend that are legitimate downloads.

I mostly use:
http://www.karaoke-version.com/
http://www.selectatrack.com/
http://www.all-star-karaoke.com/
http://www.tricerasoft.com/

There's a large list of resources for music in this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=35&t=27824

Around here legitimate is something that will be debated both ways no matter who you purchase from. You'll have to decide that part for yourself.

Thanks

http://www.karaoke-version.com/ That one advertises MP3 downloads. I have ignored this site thinking that it's only "MP3 downloads" and not cdg's (mp3+g)? Is that what it is or does it have the cdg with it?

Wow those are 2.99 each. I guess My next question would be. Are they worth it? Is the quality of the backing track good? Does it sound like MM or SC?

and the answer is subjective. Most of the tracks i have dowloaded are very decent renditions, especially considering no one else has bothered to record them, others have been COMPLETE flops.

the best you can do is listen to the samples, and decide for yourself if it is worth the download cost

The good thing is, I've found their customer service to be excellent. If they produce a sub-standard track, such as their first attempt at Jive Bunny's "In The Mood", they'll make it right with you. In my case, a full credit and an apology.

That's the only track I've had a problem with... All the rest have been very good to excellent.

ALL the KVs i've bought have been excellent new releases, except for "Thrift Shop" by macklemore. SBI version is WAY better! :)

I've had good, ok and don't bother from them - but like said most of these were tracks NOT out anywhere else.
You can also hear a sound clip with swipes to preview what you are getting. So you can usually judge for yourself. I have about 420 KV songs, and most of them were worth the price.

I was raised on DK & Nikkodo. But I'm not a snob about it. ;)

DK I can see having a sentimental attachment. Nikkodo, I could leave every one I every heard and not feel sorry about it.

Earl, I’ve been waiting for “Swing The Mood” by Jive Bunny for so long I decided to give it a try ignoring your comments. How bad could it be? I downloaded it 20min ago, & of course, you told me so. It was bad! Wrong lyrics & very hard to follow. I was expecting a little background vocal help from the ad-libs but there were none; I just provided it myself & ended up butchering the song. Good thing it was just a practice run. I sent them an email, hopefully they’ll give me a refund.
