Leaving the "who has what license" out of the equation for the minute ( and I'm pretty sure that Pocket's 5 songs on PS1374 are probably the only ones anyway) What is your preferred brand for this group, which is very popular at my shows?

I have found that Standing Ovation/Backstage, Druid/Perfomance Tracks, and Killer Karaoke/L&M are all pretty much the same tracks.

I have yet to hear CB40198's 6 songs or Monster Hits MH1127's 7 songs.

The only other full Doors disc that I could find was Legends LG098. Though I'm a fan of Legends, the 2 song sample that I heard from this disc didn't seem any better than the "bargain" brands listed above.

The reason that I ask this question is that I'm wondering if I should pick up any of the last three brands mentioned, or just continue with what I have. I don't think the bargain brands are great, but so far the customers haven't complained. Just wondering if I can improve on what I have while I can still find the discs...

I would say I've gotten a lot of good useage (and seen the same at other shows) out of the Performance Tracks disc. I purchased the Legends (#98) disc for "The ALabama Song."

Dangerous cdg #1 & #10. Doors’ Roadhouse Blues & The Alabama Song . Probably the best karaoke version imho.

Riders On The Storm – don’t know about CB40198-10 or SBI but UK3103 is also very good.

Actually except for the lousy swipes (no count ins for where you are supposed to sing - especially after the break), the music on Standing Ovation for Riders On The Storm is pretty decent. I think this is now Backstage that took over that disc.

I regularly sing Roadhouse Blues off the Legends disc, and it is a very good version!

KJmann, I didn't see any but one or 2 on SC

However, you said you liked the CB stuff, and someone else liked the song they heard from the Legends disc, so I guess I'll give them a try Thanks, folks!

Cue, I think you'll find that the Alabama song is also on the Standing Ovation SO-206/ Backstage BS-7617 discs ( Yup, Lon, BS took over SO, and these discs are identical.), but if you think the Legends is better, I'm happy to give it a try.

While the Druid DPT2004/ Performance PT2004 are identical to each other, they are slightly different from the BS/SO in that Track 13 ( The Alabama Song) on BS/SO is Unknown Soldier on DR/PT. Except for that all FOUR discs would be identical..

While not identical in content, I think the Killer/L&M disc KK7004 is probably same sourced, as they look and sound the same as well.

OK, going for the CB and LG. Thanks again!

I second that. The Dangerous versions are the best available.

I couldn't say whether the Legends version is better than the BackStage/Standing Ovation version of "The Alabama Song." One thing I can say with certainty, is that the Sweet Georgia Brown version is the worst of them all for that song. Musically, it's ok, but the word-swipes are noticeably out of synch with the music.

For the Alabama Song, Legends, Sunfly, Standing Ovation, Backstage, Sweet Georgia Brown And Karaoke-version are all the same Backing track with a slightly different mix.

The only company that did their own Audio track was Dangerous. Their version is the best in my opinion, but not by much.

no Company has ever made a decent version of this.

Yup, Dangerous is the best so far for those that they have, but willing to see if LG and CB are upgrades. Will opine when I hear them....
