My shows are either mobile or regular seasonal gigs. Because of this the crowd varies greatly.

Busiest night? Nearly 200 people in the club, rotation was nearly 40 deep at one point. No sitting and no break of any kind for more than 7 hours (9p - almost 5am). I was given a drink tab and didn't use any of it - it took more than 5 minutes to get to the bar and back. Fortuantely, I normally only drink water and there was a water cooler only half way to the back that I could get to.

Slowest night? A new show that I was asked to do for a friend. No advertising out yet. It was me and a couple of the employees. Rotation was 0 deep (you bring me a ticket I put you up) and had maybe 8 people in the bar. I sang close to 30 songs over the course of the 3 hour show with long music intermissions (up to 5 minutes or so between songs at some points).

I like my shows smaller and usually end up with between 15 to 20 singers.
I don't do any weekend shows anymore.
I only do an occational weekend party since I have 2 standing gigs (monday and thurs at one) Weds at another.
As far as sitting, I have MS and I stand through most of it.. I am too busy running around talking to people getting them hyped up to sing etc.
I am an entertainer and that is what I am paid to do. Don't sing a lot anymore - but that doesn't mean you can't entertain your customers!
I usually sing an opening song, and if rotation is really light like around 4 singers which does happen once in a while early in the night, I may slip one in every other rotation.
If I do have to take a break for whatever reason I always have someone there to push the play button for the next song... very relaxed place....
Where I have my gigs are very much like "Cheers" everyone knows everyone. Not much protocal needed anymore.. I yell out things like - "BUCKY get yer butt up here!" (one of our regular singers who is always too busy flirting to hear his name called). I dunno it works for me cause I keep getting a raise whenever I ask them to pay me more so I must be doing something right. :)
