I need some advice on what could be a life changing decision.

I've suspected for some time now that my wife has been having an affair. The usual signs. Phone rings, I answer, someone hangs up. She started going out 'with the girls' a lot recently although when I ask which girls it is always "Just some friends from work, you don't know them". I always look out for her taxi coming home but she always walks down the drive although I can hear a car setting off. As if she has got out of the car round the corner. Why? Is it not a taxi? I once picked her mobile up just to see what time it was and she went beserk and screamed that I should never touch her phone again and why was I checking up on her.

Anyway, I have never approached the subject with my wife. I think deep down I just didn't want to know the truth but last night she went out again and I decided to check on her. I decided I was going to hide behind my car which would give me a view of the whole street so I could see which car she gets out of. It was whilst crouched behind my car that I noticed rust around my rear wheel arch.

Should I take it into a body repair shop or should I buy some stuff from the local auto shop and try to repair it myself?

jdmeister, I feel your pain my friend, and it's a difficult decision to make. To many times are we being taken advantage off, and there are so few people you can really trust, as you know yourself.

Having gone through that myself, I would make sure about the facts first. Some thorough investigation is required, and then invest some money wisely be obtaining a "Remove Rust For Dummies" book from your local Barnes and Noble, and take the big step yourself.

I hope you will learn a lesson from this my friend. Spend some quality loving care with the book and with your car, tell them how much you love them, buy flowers every now and then, show them you care, and you will never have rusting problems again.

Now about your wife, looks like something is going to rust on you my friend :bigcry:

Well, that's a tough decision - only one that you can make - but...word on the street is that her boyfriend works at the auto repair shop - I really think he would probably rip you off....so I'd go with repairing it myself. :?

Meister my old friend, Relationships are always tough.

I was married for 15 years and was a one woman man and never cheated, It turned out that my ex never held the same behavior.

Luckily I'm not a bad looking man and at one time back in 98 juggled 2 women at once(Too much work, Not worth it).

Alas I'm still a one woman man. Meister, If the woman is doing you wrong, Don't stand for it,

Go get another one

I have the same recommendations for all situations mentioned above.

Complete removal of the affected area and replacement w/ proper functioning parts.

I should know, I found out about 18 months into the marriage that the first wife was a prostitute... well she would have been had she actually charged!
