I bought alot of Adele on the hunch she would be big, not as much as i'd anticipated, but lot of her stuff gets done - and it's not the mainstream radio stuff usually, Rolling In The Deep is one of the songs that don't get done very often. One And Only gets done quite a bit. Lovesong (Cure cover) gets done quite a bit, Chasing Pavements, Turning Tables, Set Fire to The Rain & Someone Like You also get done quite a bit - but these last two were more radio played.

I also purchased a lot of songs by Adele, Rihanna, FUN, and One Direction, but hardly anybody has asked for them!

I am fortunate guys. You will probably hate me but since I am in the military I get military discount at office max and use my max perks card. I have got new prints of my entire songbook for $9.82. I live in Alaska and am pretty sure it would be cheaper in the lower 48...:)

LOL....I work for a giant evil coporation during the day with lots of printers and even more paper, so after-hours printing is on the house.

Decent 3-ring binders and sheet protectors always make the project around $100.00 to produce 12 new books about every 1.5 years that are all soaked in sticky beer (at least I hope it's beer) after about 6-8 shows.

My wifes boss allows her to use their copier - 16 books printed double sided in less than an hour - free.

The new songbooks are finished. I've only printed five artist books and one title book. How many books do you use at your shows?

I go overboard with books. I try to have a book for every table and usually a ratio of 2:1 for Artist:Title.

I really liked Songbook Live, but it didn't work to good on Blackberrys so I let my subscription lapse. Around here the Blackberry is king!

I used to have a dozen books printed (8 Artist, 4 Title). Now, I'm down to 6 and 2 respectively, every six months or so. We distribute the two latest editions each week for a total of 16 books... just about the right number for our venues.

To me, the expense of having books printed professionally is simply a cost of doing business, and a legitimate deduction come tax-time.

I must admit, it bugs me when I go out to a Karaoke venue and find the host's books are beer-stained, torn, and out-dated by five years. I want everything about my show to say "quality", and that includes the equipment and books.

...Years ago, the KJs and In-House Venues I used to work for would have anywhere from 12-20 books, usually 1/2 Artists, 1/2 Title. These last few years I've been carrying 6-A's and 3-T's.

...Currently I'm updating/editing and downsizing from (6-A's & 3-T's) to (5-A's & 2-T's) and subscribing to SongBooksLive. As usual, new music will be added to the back of the books. If I need more books, I'll print more but I have had several people come up and ask me and or tell me I need to post my Library online so they can use their online devices. So, we'll see how that works out.

0 books. i use Songbookdb.com. everyone can use their smartphones (Frede, it works on crackberrys too  ) and it's free. i set up 2 old (@$%&#!) laptops for those without smartphones and blew it up to a bigger size on screen (for the 99.99% of people who don't bring their reading glasses and wouldn't look through a book but can read the menu perfectly  ) and have not used a single book in a few months. cost to update songbook every time i buy a new song.....$0
even the older crowds love it especially that they dont have to remember all of the title or how to spell an artists name, just a few letters. like "el pr ey ra" brings up elvis blue eyes crying in the rain.
https://www.songbookdb.com/books/PARA1/ heres my book if you would like to see what it's about (just can't send requests)

Can you set the songbook to list all alphabetically - I type in an artist & it brings up the list? What I don't like is looking for a song and keep scrolling to the end of the alphabet only to find it starting back over on the next scroll with a different manu.

FYI Enforcer & all active, reserves & retired military personnel here in ks, a lot of stores are offering discounts to military personnel. When in doubt, ask. You earned it! I’m retired military. 10% off @ Home Depot & Lowe’s all year round. Some stores even offering 20%. Listings: (a lot more participating)

I've made CompuHost's Kiosk available to my singers for their smart devices, once they find their song the just submit it. I was totally amazed at the response, they absolutely love it. (Only a couple of singers ever used "Songbook Live")

in the upper left corner is a box that just says "ABC". it can list by artist or title. i like being able to put in a few letters of each and it finds it. want some garth? type in gar bro and they all come up. too much? just want shameless? gar bro sha brings up al;l my versions of shameless by garth.

I've cut back from 10 song books (artist and title same book) to five artist and one title. Thanks for the comments. I'm going to print one more title book. I'm still using plastic covers. I was able to print double sided on a new printer so the cost this time was not bad. Of course after combing through my book four times for corrections I immediately found two doubles after the printing.

I usually had 6 Artist and 3 Title books made - comb-bound with a plastic front and back cover. The patrons are still very hard on the books - although one sweet lady spilled a drink on one, and promptly purchased it from me (which works for her - now she can take it home and plan for the next visits!)

I'm having great difficulty right now, assessing software programs for making a songbook. I like my books to be "Last name first", but my files on my computer are the opposite for easy searching. I used to have KJPro, but apparently it had some kind of issues with Avast and promptly became uninstalled - and NOW I can't find my original disc, and the website is gone :(

I bought Tricerasoft's songbook creator, because it was the cheapest (only working one night a week currently..don't get me started...), but it's got some truly annoying glitches that make it not worth the money I paid - chiefly the issue of when you edit a line in the database, it defaults BACK TO THE STINKING TOP OF THE LIST. If I have to edit multiple lines, it's an absolute chore.

I was able to save an .xls file of my songbook, but I can't get Open Office to jump through hoops for me like some people can. If I could fix that issue, I could probably just add the @600 new titles, no problem. Any help or advice is appreciated.
