I've been using a LinkStyle HD Video Converter from my laptop to my monitor an RCA HDTV 19" screen. The RF unit died and I went to look up the web site and they aren't on the web just a few youtube unhappy purchasers of the same problem I had, it died in less than 6 months maybe less than 500 hrs of use. I paid about $55 for the unit. The sound of course is through my mixer to the speakers as well as mics. I'm still using wired mics, please don't slam me for not using wireless mics. I had my own band years ago and am using my older but reliable Shure mics. Looking for a converter that at least has a websites and a supplier online. Thanks in advance, I've been lurking about once a week on this site,

My tv monitor is 60Hz, the video card I can't find on this program is windows 8 on adell inspiration 15 laptop. I only use it strictly for Karaoke, nothing else. I'm trying to find out how to enter system manager for the info. I bought it as a Christmas gift for myself LOL. Let me search a few minutes.

Yes, you do. Intelix Skyplay, a little pricey tho for $800. :)

There’s this one 60” tv @ the club that get so much interference when I connect s-vid or composite cable. Snowy & scrambled pictures. Clear as it can be if it’s hdmi from satellite dish or dvd player. I’m looking for a converter – from laptop S-video out to convert signal to hdmi like this one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 0U008M6373

Thus my next question. I know hdmi carries audio/video. If I feed this converter with just S-Vid or composite rca will the vid signal still go thru without connecting the white/red audio cable? I would presume also that the video will be degraded to maybe 720res or less granting it will work. btw tv is 35ft away. Will need 50ft cable if I go up & over. Thanks for your help.

Doesn't your laptop and TV / monitor have the pin connectors? Use them.

Brian,

I learned a lot of video speaking with some of the video guys at radio shack. They sure know a lot:) haha..but what i've heard is that when going form some of these new hd tv's to old ones and vice versa can cause a few problems. More so problems when going with the rca and composite mixture. There is some converters out but what ive found is that most tv's have problems with upscalling vs. down scalling. Almost all tvs nowadays have hdmi which is a luxury. Unfortunately, I have a heck of a time finding any tv's that have rca anymore. So, I just pretty much bring my own 32'' hdtv that has the composite and stick with composite to composite if need be. Otherwise I use my Intelix skyplay which I have yet to have any issues with any venue. Hope this helps...Let me know if you need more info...

@ Enforcer. Thanks. From your post I gather what I would like to do (rca to converter to hdmi out) might not even work, however Intelix Skyplay will definitely do the job. I bought that flat screen 60” tv for the lounge & I can’t even transmit karaoke signal due to heavy interference. Connection input: s-vid, component & hdmi, no composite. If so, I have no recourse but bite the bullet & get Intelix only if I can find one at a reasonable price level. Maybe find one like Ripman8, bought a set for $100. :)

Hey Enforcer that's what I want, I checked the other unit out I figured I'd better do some searching for pro's and con's of it. The one I found was from a link on zsounds and I didn't like the reviews. I'll check out the RF converter from your link. Yup having similar problems like you're describing, my first unit went a little crazy and was flipping horizontal and grainy and finally quit. $800 for Skyplay is way too much for me from what little I make 3 hrs and one night a week. I'm KJing in an old union hall from an old coal mine community in West Virginia, the mine shut down 40 years ago the old union hall is now a community center. They like to see the words on their big TV for the audience, so I have two monitors, my RCA 19" which is HDMI and there's is analog with the RCA plugs. I guess you know what kind of music I play, very little Rock and Roll or Pop, no rap at all. Old country music from the 50's up to 80's and some of the old blue grass and 50's-60's rock and roll, bunch of old timers, but they act like teenagers, a lot of fun, and I mean it! The crowd grew from 15 people and maybe 8 singers, now 4 months later I get 35+ and 20 singers, small compared to some of you guys but this is in the mountains of WV. Thanks all you guys for your responses. God Bless! Jim

Wow what a hassle, I don't think the one on Brian's link will work for me, it converts back to HDMI which the TV I need to hook up to isn't. But I found another on Amazon which is better for my application and should work, $79.00. StarTech.com High Resolution VGA to Composite (RCA) or S-Video Converter - PC to TV Video Adapter - 1600x1200 RGB to TV Converter.

Brain $30.61 including shipping, sold, I bought it after reading the reviews and what you said. The first responder was a KJ. Knew I came to the right place for an answer, you guys are great. I usually find answer's to my problems here by doing a search on here, but I couldn't find nothing when I tried that, great site, great info!

Likewise! I agree. KJ’s helping one another & exchanging ideas at its best. Awesome site.

Sans the snide criticisms, bickerings, sniping & sparring, (the norm in every forum - unavoidable) this is the best karaoke site ever, bar none! LOL

I've been using this one for quite awhile without any problems.
At only $15 I couldn't resist buying a spare.

Hey guys,
Ill be honest with all of ya.. I searched for wireless hdmi for months and my dad works for an electronics company.. He has told me many times to be careful with hdmi wireless with all these other brands because he had to turn in a bunch for a professional venue because they were overheating. I told him about Intelix and man did I surprise him because even tho they can get warm they will never overheat.. So I wouldn't trust any other brand but that's me and the research I've done. :-)

Well i seriously doubt it, but if you can get a pair of transmitter and reciever for around $300 or less then I'd totally buy into that, even tho I'm not even working at the moment, something I'd love to have for at home just to cut down on a few wires
