So, I happened to be in the Tacoma, WA area on business this past weekend, and thought I would stop into Lonman's show.

All I have to say is that everything he has said on Karaoke Scene over the past 11 years has been all lies. Let me count the ways.

First off, his venue is NOT like he describes it. Here's a picture I took:



So then I go to say hi to Lonnie, but I can't find him. I think he must be off, because some other guy is running the karaoke. I ask the bartender, and he says that the guy IS Lonnie. Anyway, his picture must be from 1992, because here's what he looks like today, singing "Talk Dirty to Me" by Poison Saturday night:



Apprehensive, I go say hi to him after his performance. He's happy to see me, and offers to get me up next in the rotation for $5.00. I don't have $5.00, but before I can say anything, he goes and orders a Mai Tai on my tab and considers it a done deal.

When I get up on stage and get the chance to check out his PA system, here's what I see:

Good thing his 54,352,345 song playbook had the Soundchoise version of the Eagle's song I wanted.

Anyway, as much as I enjoyed meeting Lonnie, I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon.

I started to get outraged then remembered it's April Fools Day

You had me P-ing my pants when you showed that pic of Susan Boyle.

But, did you really go to visit Lonnie's show this past weekend?

Topher got me too, not even Susan Boyle's pic phased me a bit because I’ve seen Lon’s pic & the similarity is uncanny.

When Topher posted the Behringer set with Vocopro mics, that’s when I realized something’s not right. Lon is passionate about these brands. Hated it! Happy April Fools Day, Lon!

To be fortunate enough to derive an income from a source as fulfilling as karaoke music has got to be as close to heaven as we can get here on earth!

Unfortunately, no. Washington state is about the furthest in the continental US you can get from sunny FL.

Looks like about 3,275 miles, 47 hours by car or about 7.3 hours by plane. Maybe one day for vacation, but for now, I'm good here
