I've had the same rack case for about 5 years, though mine doesn't have the laptop shelf.
I put a few 4U rack drawers in it along with my other gear, and can store almost everything I use in those two rack drawers and keep the whole giant unit at my gig.
The only think I still lug around are my speakers and my books, everything else stays at the bar!

Very nice.
What do you use the table for? I'd have no use for the table.
How do you haul it up stairs?

The table is the front rig cover with legs if I’m not mistaken. Putting the laptop on top was way too high for me, practically covering my face, so I bought two side wings for laptops. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/5 ... Wings.htmlAttachment:

Chris is still young. Old farts (like me) can’t do that anymore, so accept gigs with no ramps & no flights of stairs.

Can't think of any gigs I've ever had that didn't have at least one or two stairs. Few and far between.

roadready.com makes some really nice custom cases, special order. as they have stopped making their cd case's with handle and wheels, but they will custom build one to your needs. check them out and get a quote..... here's what i have picture doesn't show, but there is an insert that locks and covers one side so i can lift it and turn it over the top of the other side to put the case halves together without dumping the disc's. has wheels on back and the case is stuffed with about 1200 cd's in paper sleeves..... 800 in plastic jewel cases. but i will say with 1200+ cd's it's about 60-70 lbs's with that many disc's found a link that shows the insert and gives the model # if you want to reference it if you do a custom order with them. http://www.pssl.com/Road-Ready-CD-Case- ... eels-Hand-

How do you haul it up stairs? Table is optional for me. Don't need and likely wouldn't use for current gigs. But it is a nice option to have particularly for private events. I don't have any gigs with stairs other than the occasional 1-2 steps from one level to another. I have separate stackable cases for situations like that though. -Chris

i take the top cover and set it on the table to put my laptop on. so from left to right it looks like steps. plus tip jar and business cards. never had a gig with stairs so can't comment on that part.

I did a party last fall for a friend (freebee) and I had never been to his new home near the bay. When I got there I saw a big ground floor patio with and large over hang.....nope that is not where I had to set-up! I had to carry my stuff onto the 2nd story roof, 2 tall flights of stairs. Next time, friend or not, it won't be free. I did get help bringing all down. My rig is pretty light at 57 lbs and my speakers are 54 lbs each. I am in the process of trying to get my rig under 50 lbs and I think I can do it.

I never do free shows for friends - discounts - sure. Once friends start talking to each other, then they'll expect you to do shows free for them as well.

I prefer the smaller footprint. My footprint is the size of my rack. Fits in tight areas. Laptop over the rack.

My new stage monitor is 19 lbs. Light is good.
