After almost 2 years, the one and only absolutely definite pirate (track thief) includeded in the NJ suits is still up and running multiple shows on the same night with no interruption.

Way to go........ Helluva job fighting actual piracy....

FADING.....fading.....fading....fading....

There obviously isn't any money in going after your pirate. He probably can't afford the GEM series, or he can't pay a settlement. You're surprised, why???

8) This seems to be the pattern a big case filed with multiple suits some hosts get brow beaten into settling and the hosts that don't simply walk, since their is no follow through on the evidence being provided. Makes you wonder why any host would pay SC, especially since the agents you pay don't seem to be turning the money over to SC. Happy New Year smooth, Joe.

Joe some of the same here in Raleigh, hire a decent lawyer and you can string it out for years it appears. I guess the evidence gathered by SC wasn't that impactful, plus some that weren't pirates caught up in the deal and still unable to get their names cleared. Maybe SC needs new or better lawyers, the ones they have can't seem to close the deal.

I wasn't surprised, and the pirate never bothered with a lawyer. As a matter of fact, it doesn't look like the suit has been pursued. I believe was done by an SC sub-contractor as well. I'm trying to find out if this is another SC default due to lack of follow-up, but have no solid information yet.

BTW: Before anyone jumps on me, when I said almost 2 years, I meant how long it has been since the alleged investigations started, and it has actually been OVER 2 years. The actual suit was filed 08/10/11.

I would hope Jim Harrington would be kind enough to bring us up to date on this suit:

Slep-Tone v. Ryan Buckmueller Et Al
Case# 2:11-cv-04636-JLL-MAH

Is Ryan Buckmueller the allged pirate? I've never met a KJ in NJ named Ryan. Maybe he uses a stage name that I would be more familiar with. Where does he work? Could it be the Jimmy Buffet place?

That lawsuit was being handled by a firm based in Pennsylvania. That firm was hired by APS & Associates without Slep-Tone's direct involvement. After APS was fired in February, APS apparently told the Pennsylvania firm to dismiss that lawsuit with prejudice--even though a motion to dismiss had been denied and discovery was proceeding. The firm did so without contacting, or apparently attempting to contact, SC. Because the lawsuit was dismissed with prejudice, there is very little if anything SC can do about it--except sue APS, which it has now done. Of course, a dismissal with prejudice would not cover any activity that occurred after the filing date of the lawsuit, so when we return to NJ, we will target new investigations appropriately.

8) Yes James when you return, when you get back to fighting the good fight. When will that be? I thought you were going to appeal the the settlements in the Panama City Florida cases? I thought you were going to refile the dismissed cases in Las Vegas, that Donna Boris muffed, oh and by the way you handled at the end, didn't you? What are you going to do about the 40 dismissed cases in California are you going to refile them? What about the possible 31 counter suits that can be filed because of breach of contract concerning the California settlements? I say 31 since one defendant has already counter sued you. You may have sued APS and Donna but is it not true, they both could counter-sue you? The New Year has begun, you were supposed to be pressing the war against piracy on 5 fronts. Isn't closer to the truth that you and Kurt will be playing so much defense that you won't have much time for an offense? Have a nice day.

Thanks for the update, Jim.

No, Ryan wasn't the track thief, but it doesn't matter now...

Jim, if or when you return to NJ, it may be a good idea to acquaint yourself fully with our system and the way our courts deal with business suits ( no pun intended  ).
if you haven't done so already.

Even the artist organizations tred a little more lightly here...

No knock, just saying that the environment is not the same as, say, Florida.....
