Bruce- I can assure you that Chartbuster is gone. DigiTrax is a completely different company. The owners of DigiTrax purchased the Chartbuster catalog. That is all. There are all new empoyees here. A few people from Chartbuster applied with DigiTrax and did get hired. I can assure you that there are new owners and new management with DigiTrax Entertainment.

There is conflicting info out there. Was the catalog purchased from Chartbuster, or was it turned over to "someone" who either formed DT or sold it to DT?

Did you not read Gretchen's response? She stated it was purchased. But of course people are free to believe whatever they like.

ok wrote to selectatrack about chartbuster song tracks and here is the response I got
just a minute ago

Unfortunately chartbusters licensing didn’t cover their tracks in the United States on custom discs so we had to pull all of their content. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

so selectatrack.com has no more chartbuster song tracks

wonder who you would write to , about the licensing of chartbuster song tracks ??

try http://digitraxkaraoke.com/

They actually own the catalog now. They have a streaming service and you can buy any song you want. The issue at the moment is it's hard to tell what the brand is unless you play the track and can tell on your own.

I'll check them out ;)

so if chartbuster song tracks are being pulled off some sites
does that mean also they are being pulled off karaoke sites as well ?????

I have no idea. A post here said the main reason they were pulled is because some of the chartbuster logos were found in the middle of some of the songs and needed to be cleaned up before they could go back on. The pull was suppose to be temporary is how I understand it.

So if DT purchased the CB catalog, why is there only a fraction of the CB library on DT? The CB catalog is probably twice as large as the DT catalog.

gretchen, who is with DT, says they are working with the publishers on the rest of the library for full licensing. She can explain it better but that is the quick answer.

they*Digitrax* probably don't have a license for all of it yet. Which would mean they could only stream/sell what they have a license for. Do you know how expensive it would be to license all 12,000 tracks without ANY income coming in yet because your a new company?

The only thing that confuses me is IF that was the case, then why did Digitrax have more songs available through select a track? *I double checked and I brought some songs with the double logos from Select-A-Track*

The other possible explanation is that it would take a lot of time to go through 12,000 tracks, remove all the chartbuster logos, and add the Digitrax/ karaokecloud logo. Obviously as this select-a-track fiasco has shown, they haven't finished yet.

alrighty I just purchased to be a paying member on digitrax gave up my membership on the karaoke channel online and my soundcloud.com premium for it lol
cause it would cost me too much to subscribed to them and digitrax but I'll try it out for awhile and see if I like it .
not if I don't like it I'm going back to KCO
cause after singsnap suspended me they were there for me through it all
including the incident at youtube
that kinda hurt letting them go :(

OK, I am going to try to get to all of your questions.

Brian- Unfortunately Greg is no longer with the company. The manu's that are on board with the Karaoke Cloud are as follows:

1. The old Chartbuster Catalog
2. Sunfly
3. SBI
4. Stage Stars
5. Mr. Entertainer
6. DK
7. Magic Music

There are more to come and not all of them are up yet. We are uploading daily.

I believe that Brian's questions wasn't "What brands are being made available?". His question/request was to know what brand is linked/associated to/with a specific track. If I am going to pay $1.99 to own a download of (let's say) "Give Me Just a Little More Time" by Chairman of the Board, I would like it to be from Sunfly, and not from SBI (I have heard both versions, and Sunfly is definitely the better of the two for that particular song). But, the karaokecloud.com site is NOT showing us the Manu brand next to the track info. All that we see is Song and Title info.

This is definitely not the case. As a programmer, I know that it would take less than an hour to do this, assuming they have the original project files. Even if they don't, I think they can work some magic with some basic programming experience to search & replace the code that produces the logos - much like CAVS' new program.

Top Hits Monthly never put logos in the middle of a track, so when they "went under" (ha ha) Panorama (the "successor" ha ha) simply replaced the first & last 5 or 10 seconds or so of each track with a blue screen and white letters - but everything in between is the same - THM red with white letters. That would take 20 minutes to do.

So, I wonder if Norbert is still with the company, in any capacity.

This was already answered on P.2 of this thread. But, here it is again (so you don't have to search for it). ....

That is why you will find out of Chartbuster's 12,000 songs only 2,700 are up at this time. We are in negotiations with all of the publishers and so far Sony, EMI, and Warner are on board. As soon as more publishers come on board you will find many more tracks being released.

I hope this helps!!!

I wonder how many they will get licensed. Remember what PHM's owner said - licenses are like twice as difficult and twice as much as they used to be. I think its fair to say that they're gonna have some trouble getting the licenses, which might be construed right now as being evident.

Thanks, Cue. I wasn’t able to put words in the proper order, but that’s exactly what I meant. If I download a particular song I prefer to know the manu brand - thus my statement from my other post following: Quote: “Glad to hear about digital downloads used in a pro setting. $1.99 for new hits is just about right. I don't mind paying that amount for an early new hit releases from the right manu”. :)

Cue and Brian- Right now there is not a way for us to determine the Manufacturer. We are working on that. I have expressed how important it is.

Troy- Norbert is not with DigiTrax Entertainment. New Company, New Owners, New Management Team.

Even if you have the original working files that created the karaoke tracks; the splash screens have to be changed one at a time because everyone of them is different. Even if each song only took 1 minute to edit, it would still take 12,000 minutes which would be 200 hours. Now if they had 5 people working on it full time, it would only take a week to get them all done.

If someone wins a judgement against me for $250,000.00 I can't sell all of my assets to a "friend" for next to nothing and then claim bankruptcy to avoid giving those assets to the person or company that sued me. If you have $250,000.00 of assets on Monday and you lose a judgement for $250,000.00 on Tuesday; you can't transfer those assets on Wednesday to another company or relative or silent partner and claim that you have no assets. That is called fraud. I'm sure that CAVS is watching this cloud thing very closely. I guess they might as well wait until there are actual cash assets to go after. Let the shell games begin.

Thanks, Gretchen. I think manu id for song titles should be in the high priority to do list. This will generate quickly the download segment based on subscriber’s manu preferences. I for one will not download a song if I don’t know the manu brand. I’ll just wait & see. :)
