Of course we just figured out how to add a photo to our profile. :-) We chose a photo that reflects an infamous SCDG disc that we have heard from MANY people recieving them. So the vote is on.

Judging from the photo, is this disc real or one example of the HUGE problem we are faced with when other sellers destroy this market with unfair competition.

Can't really see it in the profile pic. Add it to the post in a bigger size. Underneath the reply box, you can upload an attachment - browse for the pic file on your computer & click add the file. Wait for it to load, then click submit.

Ok, hopefully the photo shows better this time.

From your picture, it looks like a disc with a hand-made paper label on it. Without knowing what company produced this disc, and without ever seeing their discs before, I would have to say that this is a bootleg.

Same. Based on how the majority of my other discs look, I would view that one as highly suspect and it would not make it into a show without confirmation.

And the fact that it says BOOTLEG right on the disc makes me wonder? :rotflmao:

I would say just by looking at it (photo is still kind of blurry), that it isn't a legit manu disc. Very RARE you see plain black & white labels with very little info on them.

Just by looking at the label and lack of any producer or manu. I would say it is not legit. I really don't think that many of the SCGD disc out there are legit.

Isn't pretty much anything with "super" in the name exactly the opposite anyway?

Thanks for your comments on that disc. The disc in fact is a dvd-r, the label was possibly done on some thermo printer, and the back of the cd has the very clear recording lines and a purplish hue color to the cd. Same color you find in a homemade dvd movie.

The disc you see has been around for years and Musicbookdeluxe has stated that they do not have it in their listing and when cavsusa (the original founder of scdg technology) was asked a few years ago if it they knew of such a disc being released by any manufacturer. They said no.

For years, the SUPER KARAOKE disc number 4 and 5 had sweet georgia brown on it. Well, how can that be when the actual original one that was put out was a magic tracks scdg.

Then SUPER KARAOKE disc 1,2,3 had DK on it from what we have seen continually and this was even before the Millinium was created.

Then there are SUPER KARAOKE 2004-2007 floating around and it has top hits monthly on it. Yet it was verified that top hits monthly NEVER made a disc that ever looked like those and they never even made a real scdg past 2006 anyways. So where did 2007 come from?

Once again, thanks for your input on the disc. Sorry that it was blurry. This blog should help raise awareness. We have had countless consumers talk to us on the phone and mention that they own these types of discs and even were suspicious that they might of been homemade. ANYONE that ever recieves discs like this should report it right away and demand in writing that the seller provide something that will prove that it is on the up n up.

Take care all.

EX MILITARY - When I look at this country, I see greatness and potential to be reborn as a country who produces instead of consumes. Unfortunatly, we live in a world where families are teaching their kids to sponge off the system. The government would be out of debt if they actually attached REAL ACCOUNTABILITY to those they give handouts to. Everyone needs help at some point in their life. We beg of you Mr. Government. PLEASE open your eyes and at least look to see whether the person that has their hand reached out for free food, free shelter, free everything is either standing up or laying down. Too many people are LAYING DOWN because they know that the system is weak and all they have to do is ask. They work harder at NOT working and it is the fault of those organizations that blindly throw money without ever once truly balancing it on the other end with real accountability.

Being new and all to this site. What I have been able to find out is there are very good looking labels out there. And by just looking at the label you may or cannot tell that the disc is bootleg. But if they are not a manufactured disc it will show the purple toward the outside of the disk. As it was burned, copied or however you call it. Manufactured discs are pressed and will not have any purple showing. Nice clean finish.

Not an authority in this in anyway, but this is what I've been able to find through my searches on the subject.

Just saw this posting. Sorry, busy with other things and have not had the opportunity to come on here as often as I would like.

The word bootleg on the disc has a question mark. I just put the text on the picture as a question. Sorry if that caused any confusion.

There are many of those discs out there. They are named SUPER KARAOKE. Some are all white, and the newer ones we have seen from 2009 forward are the colored discs like you see in the photo. There were numbers as high as 35 that we seen between 2009 and 2012. The SUPER KARAOKE number 04 and 05 had sweet georgia brown on it, the ones that said SUPER KARAOKE 01, 02, 03 had dk on them. The ones that said SUPER KARAOKE 29,30,31,32,33,34 had music maestro. Hmmm, Music Maestro was gone and how could their entire 5,000 plus song library be on a few scdg discs to begin with. Even Top hits monthly was found on SUPER KARAOKE THM2004, NH2005, and so on.

ALL these SCDG discs are on recordable dvd-r disc and have the purple backing. I just wanted to see what others thought just by looking at the photos. It's funny how many people claim to have them and never once questioned the discs. But I must admit, before I knew what a burnt dvd looked like, I just thought the purple color was some new cool looking feature!

Consumers wonder why we have a player with 200 songs for $259 and the competitors out there have these burnt dvd discs with over 1,000 songs (5 to 7 times the music) for the same price or less. Hmmm! UNFAIR competition??? Take care to all who stomp this karaokescene playground.

Actually many manus nowdays are using in house burners for their product instead of paying for the added cost of professional pressing - especially the last 4-5 years. So while your statement was once a fact, it no longer always applies to original discs anymore. It sometimes makes it hard for the general user to know the difference, the pro kj SHOULD know what they are looking at especially if they've been at it a while - but even then, the bootlegs have been mistaken for legit.
