I think I have deleted all the duplicated posts.

This was not funny it took me over 30 minutes to delete what took that member only a few minutes to post.

My time is much more valuable than that, also. This is HIGHLY UNACCEPTABLE behavior!

We welcome everyone's valuable contributions but activity of that sort is not welcomed. Please do not do that again.

oops well i am the guilty party on the silver cd icons ol...and was originally meant as just a silly waffle on my behalf, but yes was pushed out of context...ya know allstar i agree with you...i am getting to the stage very quickly where i am simply worried all the time about what i say what i dont say because it is always twisted to suit individuals.

for those who read this and are confused....
i thought it would be fun to respond to all the posts on the front page so my name would be up and down the right side....well i had no idea it would cause so much pain and suffering to allstar...you know i read these posts every day and i think he has a lot of nerve critisising the content of what people are talking about as if its a waste of his time....sorry man , its a forum and if you want to talk about whining on it, i would have to say that you always seem to be in the thick of it everytime...im sorry man for sayin this cause i have always dug ya allstar but to say that someones comments are a waste of your time (like the silver thingys...which by the way was a thread started by missy that i thought was a lot of fun) belittles us to being reserve with what we say....i apologize to only phil for what i did cause its he who has to sort it out....i didnt realize that those would all be logged as a new post on your alerts......i am very very sorry for that...hate me if you want and ill go away, but i really like it here.....

im sorry allstar for that last comment...i think you are a cool dude who likes to speak his mind and i have a lot of respect for that...i didnt mean to attack you that way.....you have every right to be frustrated by the flame threads...i think we all are...but whats funny is like them or hate them we are drawn to them like a moth to a flame...human nature .....now that the jello is in my system i realize that what i did was an inconvienience to you as well as a lot of people and i cant tell you how embarassed i am for a joke gone really bad....those who know me know i am more interested in laughter than debate....so when i find myself in the latter, with my back to the wall i say things from the passionate "jump the gun" place that i dont like to be in...so i am sorry to ALL of you.....and what i did this morning i can honestly say "kids dont try this at home"...

I know that we, also, have already "shaken hands" via a PM. I just want it known for the record, and for all those poor confused souls, that there was no love lost. What was meant as humor and for fun was just an oversight.

Matt, that is not the point I was trying to make, neither did it have anything to do with that specific thread!

I agree with you that reading all those same posts was a nuisance. I personally missed it, but I've been a member of a site where people do that type of silliness. It IS highly annoying.

If you would have explained what you just said when you started THIS thread, I wouldn't have said anything.

You might have known what you meant, but as you can see, conversations CAN be dissected and analyzied. Missy ALSO said something about it.

Anytime you have a public forum you'll have problems as the membership grows. I've seen the same thing in a car related forum I help moderate. We are much more agressive in handling 'problems' than here and we're sometimes called on it (and called assorted names because of it) but then again we have over 25,000 members and at least a couple thousand reading the boards every day.

The main problems we have there and I see cropping up here are:

Cross-posting: Where a post is duplicated in multiple forums verbatim or nearly so.

Spamming: Usually ads, but posting to nearly every forum on the board w/ a message. Think cross-posting on steriods.

Flame wars: This is where a debate has become a personal attack on someone.

Flamers: Usually new members who make a single post to incite flame wars. Usually use broad sweeping negative generalizations to create the problem (ie Everyone that does xx is a xx).

Creating clearly defined guidelines on posting is a huge help to get everyone to understand what is and isn't premitted, recommended, allowed on the board. BTW, the only board I don't know of with problems is the ones with a small membership, or at least a small active membership.

I know this is a little off topic, but it's hopefully a reminder that we're here to build comraderie and to enjoy our time here. When it stops being fun I'll stop coming here.
