hey jilly welcome to showcase...this is a great question...my dream has come true cause i have done duets with my best friend sheraoke on this very site...her talent just amazes me and im very flattered she puts up with my tonedeaf screaming in our duets..hahahah..as far as someone famous...i would love to do a duet with either freddie mercury (who has passed) or maybe shania twain (not cause she is good looking, but i think our voices would blend well)
welcome aboard hope to hear you sing soon !!!

I do agree about George Jones; one of the singularly best and beautiful voices ever created....

I would find anyone in BLUEGRASS would give thier left arm to do a Duet with Allison Kraus of "Union Station". Personally I would do one with BSS and be satisified..

Enya! I think her voice is haunting, and I'd love to sing a duet with her!
barring that, Amy from "Evanescence"

OMG JOSH GROBAN *SIGH*
I would probably be unable to sing because of the chills that would keep occuring while I attempted to catwaul through a song next to him .
Women- BARBARA STREISAND. And I would probably faint .

ohhhhhhh this is hard!!! There is so much amazing talent out there.....and it would depend on the genre too I think!!
Ok...since i'm mostly a country girl - i'll stick with my country "dream duet singers"
For male - it'd be Randy Owens of Alabama hands down!! Aside from me being able to stand next to him and gaze into those gorgeous eyes...wow he's got such a beautiful voice..so full of emotion!
And for female - Reba McEntire....Aside from being an amazing vocalist, she's got attitude and spunk...both of which I could bring to the table

Great question!!! And a tough one to narrow down to just a few---
Anyway, I would have to go with either Frederica von Stade (although she is so awesome, just being in the same building with her would make me nervous), Kiri te Kanawa, Bryn Terfel, or possibly Sarah Brightman.

EVERYONE.. and I'm not going to stop singing and pestering everyone until I achieve that goal.. hehe
hmm.. well.. this is a tough question to narrow things down to, but I'll try..
I'll do it by catagory of songs
Musicals Female: Bernadette Peters or Audra Mcdonald Male: Michael Crawford or Brian Stokes ooh or Ewan Mcgregor
Classical Female: Renee Fleming or Sumi Jo Male: Placido Domingo or Andrea Bocelli
Pop/Rock Female: Celine Dion or Whitney Houston Male: Sting, Seal, or Marc Anthony
RnB Female: Toni Braxton or Chakka Khan Male: Michael Mcdonald, James Ingram, or Luther Vandross
Gospel Female: SANDI PATTI Male: Michael W. Smith
Country Female: Reba Mcintyre or Martina Mcbride Male: Garth Brooks or George Strait
Jazz Female: Ella, Diana Krall, Vaughan Male: Harry Connick or Darmon Meader
ooh.. and I'd love to have gotten to sing with Nat King Cole or Johnny Mathis.. those smoothies melt me every time..
I guess I put too many .. but that's the only way I could rationalize the question. I'm sure as soon as I post this, I'll be thinking.."no.. i shoulda put this one. or that one", but these were the first that popped in my brain..
Elisha

Jazzy...
Michael W. Smith is a very realistic goal... more than you know...
Smith and his producer Blanton, now have undertaken a project in Nashville signing developing & producing entry level christian artists at his label (Reunion Records) they are in the process of bringing in 55 new artists from the developmental levels of the music industry and releasing a box set of his songwriting... All Things Are Definately Possible!
This was in an article in Contemporary Christian Music Weekly - Industry Trade Magazine - Oct. '04
