i keep stumbiling onto bluegrass music, and i like this style of music, can we not have a genre for bluegrass ? it would be much easier for me to find them that way :) not to worry if this cant be posssible, i will just have to take my chances on what i click on, like ive been doing so far, :)

Okay- THERE ya are. I've been clicking "refresh" on the forum page to see what the H- E- double hockey sticks you were talking about in your comment. :?

Been there with Phil- he even brought it up once. I too would like to see it. Bluegrass is not quite "country", and considered "folk" only in the olden days. I'm sure I've missed bluegrass subs that I would have given anything to hear. It would sure clarify it when you're looking for some.

Good thread, Mene. But, then of course I'm gonna applaud ya on this. *lol*

sure someone mentioned a few days ago about perhaps offering other generes as well such as 60's 70's instead of having it all bundled into the oldies...which i also think would be a good idea along with the bluegrass.

I have been subbing bluegrass and also Newgrass/country crossover it's just apparent this request like others have gone ignored AGAIN... :x
I have seen alot of this material in Both Chartbuster and Soundchoice they have alot of this material out.. Chartbuster has a library of popular bluegrass alone..
I personally just wrote in the neighborhood of 14 new bluegrass originals that I'm awaiting clearence to bring to the internet.. as I'm finding out they will not be released in a CD version by anyone anytime soon.

I don't think Phil is ignoring us- I think he just has a humongous "to do" list.

Bum- if you're looking for more tracks- chartbuster has an "Essential Plus Pack" #ESP 476 that has 6 discs & 100 songs. I got mine brand new from a dealer off Ebay for $50.00. It has ALL the really good old stuff like Ralph Stanley, Bill Monroe, Osborns, Ricky Skaggs, etc- as well as some Newgrass on it. And the musicians on these tracks know their stuff.
Any-who. Would love to hear some of your "original" bluegrass if you can sub them.
Missy- I think that would be a good idea on 60's- 70's etc. Sometimes songs surprise me with what genre they are actually subbed under. I mean, I never know wether to put bluegrass under "country" , "folk", "oldies"........ I think it's the same with some other types of music that are subbed.

Maybe Phil will find this lil' ol' thread and find time to look at the "genre" list. I did see it mentioned somewhere else on here too.

You two- :argue:

I don't know wether to tell ya to shake hands & make up, or hand ya a set of dueling pistols to end it in the ol' southern honorable way.

Knock it off now, ya hear?

Just kidding- trying to lighten the air.

~Be happy, guys~

Tig- I really don't go out much to sing.
I can't handle the "bar" scene very well. I don't normally drink, and I absolutely can't handle cigarette smoke. I've never been around it, and I'm finding out I can't tolerate it at all. I get choked up for days every time I go out. Most places are just too smoky inside.
That's why I never made ti up to Billygans- honestly. I karaoke so much at home, having family over.
Maybe when I make it out again tho, I'll let ya know. Would be alot of fun.

that's a shame. It was the best non-smoking venue I've ever seen! Maybe when the construction is done out there, they'll give us a call.

Sorry Folks - been away...

Back now - for a short visit... HoneyDo list is a calling!

I'll quickly add the BlueGrass genre... Talked about that previously - wonder why I didn't add that back then???

P H I L L

BTW - 53 submissions yesterday! Dang I have a lot of listening to do... Guess I'll turn up the volume and listen while I work...

A-ha......... We caught you're attention. You're gonna need that bluegrass genre tab soon as you start subbin' your Ricky Skaggs songs, Phil.

(alright, already- I shall say no more about that- just hurry up N' sub somethin')

KnightShow- You never SAID it was a non'smoking venue. Is it down for remodeling or something? That's the kinda place I need to find to go to. Usually by the end of the evening I can't finish my last song or two. It's dumb- I start out singing my harder songs and save the easy low range ones for when I start getting choked up. It irritates me. Not much of a fun karaoke night usually for me- cause I pay the price of losing my voice.

I'll have to check them out more closely.

BlueStainedShoes -

Well, this weeks genre is Bluegrass.

Unfortunately I still haven't picked up a mic or downloaded and figured out the software yet. I've been busy... But we shall see what this week brings.
