DannyG2006 wrote: Another reason to get Media Pro HD is the fact that one need not submit to an audit to use it in a professional Karaoke show. As long as you only have 10 or less discs from CB you don't have to spend the money to become certified. I received my re-certification certificate yesterday. Didn't cost me a penny. How do they go about determining you have 10 or less disks?

Simply they went with my former audit checked my purchases which indicated I only bought one disc since my last audit before I bought the KJ Media Pro which I registered with them as well.

No purchase of KJ Media Pro needs no certification at all. Which means no audit needed. I'd post the email I received from Paula from CB but that might get me in trouble with the mods here.

Did that really answer the question? Maybe this will answer the question: Pasted from an email from Paula riffle of CB: "Danny, All good questions! As you know, obtaining certification is not required, strictly voluntary. In fact, we don’t require one with KJ Media Pro unless you are using more than 10 Chartbuster disc. If you aren’t using more than 10, you will automatically retain your certification. If that is your plan, let me know and I will send you an updated certificate."

If you can't trust a KJ, who can you trust? Sounds like a precedent setting policy to me.

Let me try my question again.
You went through a CB audit with less than 10 CB disks, right? Due to the low volume of disks they did not charge you for the audit, right? Since the audit instead of purchasing additional CB disks you purchased the KJMP HD, right?
If a KJ was in the exact same situation with a free audit (less than 10 disks) and the purchased the KJMP HD, are they going to get a free pass each year because they claim to have 10 or less disks?
What if they never unlock a single track? If they buy more disks are they just taking the KJ for their word that they haven't? How would they know the KJ isn't using pirated tracks?
Is there some sort of an agreement you have to sign with CB stating you won't use pirated disks and that you will inform them if you purchase additional disks?

My best guess is that because I passed the audit last year, my word is good enough for them. I don't know if they are going to take the word of someone they don't already know is a certified legit host.

I ordered the drive and software and tonight is my first show. Unfortunately, for some reason, I am unable to export the song list from the hard drive, the only songs that show in the CSV file are the ones I have manually added. Without your link, my song book would be very tiny. Is there an update to this please? I don't see a way in compuhost to transfer to fastTracks. I know this list is not up to date, I have a couple songs from the KJMP HD I unlocked that are not on this list.

I know this list is not up to date, I have a couple songs from the KJMP HD I unlocked that are not on this list. Not that I could find on either the Compuhost site or the Chartbuster site, but I did find this on the Chartbuster site...perhaps it will help. Creating a SongBook
1. First ensure the KJ Media Pro HD drive is properly connected. 2. Open the KJ Media Pro HD Setup/Configure dialog (CompuHost->Main Menu->KJ Media Pro HD->Configure/Manage KJ Media Pro HD) 3. Select "Advanced" from the menu at the top of the page. 4. Select "Export KJ Media Catalog for SongBook Printing"
This will create an industry standard CSV (Comma Separated Values) file
(KJMediaCatalog.csv) found in the CompuHost program folder (default:\Program Files\CompuHost). This file is formatted to be directly imported into FastTracks V2 Songbook Creator (sold separately) or most spreadsheet applications. The user is free to either import the listings into a separate"KJ Media Pro HD" SongBook, or import/merge the listings into an existing SongBook, thus combining their own content with the KJ Media Pro HD selections.
Users utilizing FastTracks V2 SongBook Creator should update their FastTracks V2 SongBook Creator to the latest revision (v.2.6.2232A) available from our support http://www.karaokeware.com/support.html . A minor formatting change was needed to ensure the KJ Media Pro HD Song IDs print properly.

I just got my drive. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a way to use my favorite songbook software for it. I don't like FastTracks, but use Song List Generator by Latshaw Systems. I love the flexibility for options in printing books, but it doesn't appear there is any way to import a CVS file, only export. It reads files to generate the list, but doesn't recognize the encrypted file format on the drive. Any ideas?

Hmmm.. Since Latshaws program expects actual files, there doesn't seem to be a way to do.
I would suggest contacting him as he may have a workaround.

I did, and there is not a workaround. There would be if the software could read a CVS file. Are there any other songbook software that can read these files? I may just not bother listing tracks from the drive, but if the kiosk also doesn't list the unlocked tracks, I have no way of letting people know I have them!

One work around would be to create dummy files matching everything you have unlocked on the hard drive and import those dummy files.
However it would probably be faster to just manually add the tracks in SLG.

Unwilling to create work around or add options to a program because he knows best what is needed and anything a potential customer wants added is not needed. also be carefull how you tell him it is needed cause he may just shut down your programs on you through a back door he put in so he could do just that. But it sounds to me that it is needed.

On a different subject regarding the KJMP drive...has anyone else come across songs that were on the drive, but are now missing? I have discovered two songs that were on the drive (per my original list generation this summer) that are now not on the drive. Specifically Clint Black's - A Bad Goodbye and Janis Joplin's - Mercedes Benz.
